To be freaked out

This morning after getting up I noticed a random (large) piece of what I assume is chicken wire in my back garden. I went outside to investigate and then by the wire noticed a medium size animal turd, (we have no pets) with tuff's of white fur. Some were big clumps.

Okay, some cats maybe had a scrap in the night? Decided to have a poo? But no idea where the big piece of wire came from. I'm talking 50cm x 1m big.

Went outside just now to get rid of the turd but it's GONE. Disappeared.

I'm completely perplexed. Did the offending cat cone back and EAT the evidence? I thought only dogs did that.

Any Miss Marples out there?

Sounds like a fox has got into a rabbit hutch.

Would a 🦊 return to eat their poo this morning? No rabbit hutches nearby and garden is enclosed by high walls at the bottom & fences either side.

So odd.
