I have a couple of charity experiences recently that seem to be pushing the boundaries. After all of the bad press with telephone pressure tactics, I thought that things had improved.
One that I donate by direct debit to has just written to me to ask me to recommend someone I know. I thought under gdpr they couldn't market directly without consent, so how is it any different if I do it? They included an information pack and cover letter for me to write and even stickers to personalise!
Secondly, the lateness of door knockers trying to secure direct debit. It gets dark so early now and it was gone 7, which is kids bedtime. So thanks for making them nice and awake again. My neighbour is elderly and lives alone, so must have been even worse for her. I hope she didn't answer the door.
