Why lie?

DH went in a football night out last night. I've always been totally uninterested in his nights out and he can do as he pleases. 100% trust and no issues. I'm happy at home with strictly and red wine.
He text me at nine to say they were In This certain bar. I went to bed pretty soon after. I'd had a shitty day with DS (6months) teething hell and I had a really bad cold. I couldn't settle, a mixture of a banging head and DH not being in. Anyway, he text me at at 12.15, waking me up, saying he was getting in a taxi. He was in our local town 10 mins away. So I got up and made him a cup of tea and came back to bed. He never came home until 1.45 and I saw it was his mum dropping him off. So a 15 min journey took 1. 5 hours. Why text and say he was getting in a taxi? He said he'd been waiting for a taxi since 11.30 but I've seen this mornine he was tagged in a club after that time. Why has he lied? He knows I don't care if he gets in at 11.00 or 7.00 am. Am I just reading too much Into it!? I think I'm annoyed because he woke me and DS up coming in, was up and down to the toilet all night. DS woke up at 5 and DH promised he'd get up today because I've got up everyday this week stupidly early with him. In the end he just laid there and I ended up getting up.

Sounds like they were all wasted. Was there a pic of him in the club or just his name tagged? He probably wasn't even there.

This afternoon do a swap with him and you have a relax. Don't expect anything this morning and try not to row over it. It could be your turn next bitter experience

Am totally missing the point but why did you get up and make him a cup of tea? And who even wants a cup of tea at midnight anyway? It's got caffeine in!

Make him do he night shift and early morning tomorrow.
I am sure there is a reasonable explanation.

Tea addict and always, always, always has a cup of tea before bed and will always have tea and a banana when he comes in from drinking doesn't matter how drunk or late it is
