To want to make a cup of tea?

Am staying with sister.
Lives in flat with her OH and 2 young children.
Flat is basically long corridor with rooms off it.
All door are open.
Laminate floor is very creaky.
I am awake and just want a cup of tea.
Creep to kitchen, impossible not to creak the floor but hope sis will think I'm just popping to loo and will just go straight back to sleep when she knows it's not one of the kids.
Get to kitchen and want to shut door so I can turn on light (just the one above hob) and boil kettle. Try and close door - it's got a door stop. Move the stop, door starts closing and loads of stuff behind door start collapsing (ironing board, airer). Give up, cry and come back to bed prob having woken up dsis.

I don't sleep well and should have said I might want to do this so I am kicking myself - but I just want a cup of tea.

Make do with a glass of water and read a book until you’re sleepy again?

Do you mean decaf? My DH's chronic insomniac aunt always makes herself a caffeinated tea when she can't sleep, doh!

little - I do too but I drink tea all day up until bedtime Grin doesn't affect my sleep
(Just home from a night out, no insomnia)

I am in a very regular pattern.
Get to sleep, wake, tea and read, nod back off. Hopefully only once a night but sometime two. I've tried other things - this is what works for me at the moment except when I'm in my sister's creaky flat

I have a tassimo in my spare bedroom so people can make a drink if they are staying without worrying about disturbing me.

Make a flask before bed tomorrow.

I have a Tassimo machine, it's noisy!

Anyway, back home now and able to make tea whenever I bloomin' well like!

Maybe next time I stay I will actually make a flask before bed.
