Elf on the Shelf

Am I the only person that cannot be bothered with the elf? My kids have been a nightmare getting up at 6am or earlier asking if they can go see what the elf is up to. I'm tired. They're tired. Elf is a dick! Kids behaviour is pretty awful. Should I wrote a note saying he'd gone until behaviour improves? Who's idea was this?

I hate elf on the shelf. Just another thing mum's now have to do. And I hate that my entire Facebook feed feels the need to update on their elves every single day.

I hate the elf and won't ever be having one here!

Without sounding a bit snowflakey, my home needs to be a safe haven for my children where they feel safe to express their emotions and show their parents their 'worse side' without fear of rejection, so we can teach them how to manage their emotions without stifling them. I'm not always on my best behaviour, I have had days, I have grumpy days, and I won't be told that I "have to be better" because some elf if watching and I won't get Christmas presents unless I'm perfectly behaved.

Drivenmad80 I was just about to post that Smile

Luckily dd is too young for an elf, well so I thought but a girl at work has one for her one year old but I'm not stressing myself for an elf my dd doesn't understand lol
