Having a chat over drinks with work colleagues last night (all same level as me, recent graduates) and we were playing a drinking game. One had an injury on her hand and jokingly said oh Sally’s clumsy too, she also gets injuries like this. Another guy replied, yeah but Sally would only do it to get out of something... I’m quite upset by his comment! AIBU?

Depends whether you regularly make excuses to get out of things? Seems like just normal drunk talk though.

How can we tell you if he is being unreasonable

We have absolutely no idea about you and how you behave!!

Sethis · 08/12/2018 22:04

Sounds like fairly normal banter tbh. Not even slightly offensive.

But then we're not privy to the tone of voice or other nonverbals.

WarCat · 08/12/2018 22:08

Sounds like he finds you unreliable. Must be the truth if it touched a nerve?

HeddaGarbled · 08/12/2018 22:11

Hmm, does sound a bit pointed. Does he have a point?
