Nice to see what the friendly Brexiters have in store for the Irish:

All I can say is, hope you and your children will be hit first and hard, you bunch of psychos who support this. Just remember that those who led you there like a herd of sheep will be safe because unlike you they took care of their money, like your cute and sweet Mr. Rees-Mogg.

I am not going to read that link. I suspect that whatever it says is nothing to do with me or why I voted to leave. I try to keep an open mind and read journalism from papers of both sides. The independent is far from independent. Not that it is relevant but I am from Irish stock and am not rich. We are in a political mess at the moment and I just hope we can get somewhere without all this vitriol and poison causing any more division. We are all being drip fed poison and rubbish on a daily basis. How quickly can friends and family turn on each other? Serbs/Croats 0 anyone, Jews and gentiles. Hutus and Tutsi We have more in common than divides us. Please please stop the hate campaign, both sides. You may not like ReesMogg, does that mean his young children should have been harangued in the street? We should pull together and find a working solution. Never mind who voted what. Be a human

Didn't The British government already do that during the famine? Suppose old habits die hard.

Confusedbeetle · 08/12/2018 17:08

You see? This is what we have descended to! If politicians say diabolical things, and they do all the time, mostly to be noticed, Ignore them. It is toddler behaviour. I have not come across anyone who would support such an idea. next thing is you will be quoting Trump

Well I was forced to read it and actually did not think OP merited the click bate. It was Pretty Patel who controversially comment about using a report to pressure Ireland against the Backstop. It was not a suggestion of anything the Brexiteers had in store for Ireland. The suggestion that we have returned to the appalling history of Anglo Irish relations and the terrible causes leading to the famine ( I was brought up on the history of Ireland and the injustices that Britain caused) and grew up observing the Troubles. Please, no one try to pull us back to either of those terrible places. We should be healing rifts not rubbing salt into wounds

For those that do t want to read it in the Independent, just Google, food shortages Ireland.

The BBC have covered this, as well as every News Source.

". I suspect that whatever it says is nothing to do with me or why I voted to leave."

Perhaps not, but this is what you voting to leave is causing. Are you going to get what you wanted, do you think?
