There's a song called Rosalita by Gomez which I really love. It's a song about being dumped and hurt about it and I love all the lyrics in the song, but there's a line which gets repeated which is
"I will never need you more than now". I was really hurt about a break up a long time ago, and that line really helped me, because I used to think "this is the worst bit. This is the worst of it".
Conversely, I also love the line "And I need you more than want you, and I want you for all time" from a Wichita Lineman. I think that's beautiful.
And I LOVE the lyrics from "It ain't me babe" by Bob Dylan. A song which I feel perfectly describes me. It goes from "someone to open each and every door [but it ain't me babe]" in the first verse to "someone who will die for you, and more" in the last. Actually, I love most of Bob Dylan's lyrics.
And I also adore the line "she blew my nose and then she blew my mind"
And, because it's christmas (or should that be iiitttt'sss chriiiissstmaaas) Does your granny always tell ya that the old songs are the best, then she's up there rock n rolling with the rest"
And finally, none of us have really ventured into poetry. But I love Do Not Go Gentle. Although it kind-of has to be read by Richard Burton. "Rage, rage against the dying of the light"
