Aibu to think it's annoying when people set up facebook accounts for their pets?

Light hearted but SIL has a dog and has set up a Facebook page for her dog. I thought it was weird but okay whatever floats her boat but then she starts posting things as if it's the dog writing it "woof woof, I'm having fun at the park today" 🤣

Hide the page. Some people have profiles for their toys too!

Nope. I willingily follow about 16 strangers cats and dogs (and one donkey) on twitter and I love them and their dorky little updates. Horses for courses I guess.

My Dad and I did this when I was a teen. It meant that both my friends and his friends could see the adventures of our dog on one account.

My cat has an Instagram account. To make matters worse, she and some of her feline friends occasionally send each other postcards. Grin

I would much prefer to follow the pets page Grin

Mamadothehump · 08/12/2018 13:15

I agree op. I refuse to be "friends" with my actual friend's pets!!

Bond0O7 · 08/12/2018 13:34

I'm not friends with the dog. Sometimes i see it when she shares the dogs posts and photos from his page quite amusing really 🤣

I have a friend whose facebook page is in her hamster's name. Trouble is now all my suggested friends are hamsters.
