To ask for your recommendations for congestion?

My right Eustachian tube, is narrower than my left. I have been told that by numerous specialists. They have suggested ear tubes, but even then that wouldn’t be a permanent fix and would actually reduce quality of life (I swim daily). Unfortunately this leads to congestion on my right side, makes my ear feel “hollow” and occasionally leads to migraine headache.

I used to take Allegra-d daily, and it helped tremendously, but I have started to have chest pain when I take it. Doctor recommended stopping it for a month and see if I can reintroduce it after that time without chest pain. Problem is, I’m miserable!!! Feels like someone is constantly stabbing me in the ear and acetaminophen doesn’t do anything. I have prescription hydroxyzine, but it makes me sleepy so can’t use at work. Diphenhydramine helps a bit, but also occasionally makes me sleepy.

I have tried neti pots (which help with nose but not ear). Claritin, Zyrtec and plain Allegra don’t help.

Maybe someone here has a magical solution? Doctors have been somewhat useless.

Whoops meant to post this in health. Maybe a mod can move it?

I don't have any solutions op but I'll bump for you. My ds has a similar issue with congestion. It's awful. He can't breathe out of his nose.

Can you pop your ears to release the pressure?

Would an otovent help?
