Aibu or is this the most twatish thing I've seen

I've just had a post pop up on Facebook where someone is sharing their pregnancy reveal balloon - not a gender reveal! No a pregnancy reveal, complete with smelly pee stick inside.
Aibu or is this the most twatty thing to do. Now, I'm no fan of gender reveals but each their own and if it makes you happy then crack on but this seems to go one step further. No one really wants to see your pee stick, I'm sure a scan picture would suffice. Hmm

All of that nonsense is twatty. This just seems to be adding another layer of twattiness for the twats to be twatty about.

Myusername101z · 06/12/2018 15:08

Yanbu

ButtMuncher · 06/12/2018 15:12

Ugh, it gets worse. I don't want to see a pissy stick immortalised on a FB post resplendent with a balloon. YANBU.

TheGhostsOfPresidentsYetToCome · 06/12/2018 15:23

Wow imagine getting hit on the head by a stick covered in someone else’s piss and having to pretend to be pleased about it Xmas Grin

MadameJosephine · 06/12/2018 15:31

Eeeewwww so when they pop the balloon for the ‘reveal’ they shower everyone in the vicinity with their urine???

Hideous

Puggles123 · 06/12/2018 15:32

That is a bit grim, I find putting it on social media in general is though tbh!

Thesnobbymiddleclassone · 06/12/2018 15:40

I think all of these things are a bit twatty. I've never known anyone classy or dignified take part in these things.

LegoAdventCalendar · 06/12/2018 15:41

Yuk! YANBU. Attention-seeking bollocks. All this 'How do we tell them I'm pregnant?' Um, you say, 'I'm pregnant!' Job done!

HugoBearsMummy · 06/12/2018 15:42

Gender reveal cakes, balloons, parties etc etc are just the CRINGIEST thing that currently take place on Social Media. Don't get me wrong I shared my 20 week scan pic and announced the fact that 1st DC was a Boy and current pregnancy was a Girl, but I'm fully aware that no-one other than me, DH and a few close family members actually give a shit Grin To actually PAY for a cake or balloon to be made... bonkers. And YY the pissy stick is a step too far Lol.

BarbaraRoyale · 06/12/2018 15:44

God, that is revolting

Caprisunorange · 06/12/2018 15:46

That’s quite amazing. How can a balloon even float with a pregnancy stick in it?

NotANotMan · 06/12/2018 15:48

I don't get it Confused is there a possibility the pee stick is negative? Is it a surprise? What is this?
It's beyond twatty, all of it

Tinkobell · 06/12/2018 15:48

Sorry but can you actually see the yellow pee pee end of the stick? Didn't they put the cap back on?

Caprisunorange · 06/12/2018 15:51

Also you’d have to get really up close to it to see the line. I reckon it’s a prank you’ve seen

PlatypusPie · 06/12/2018 15:52

The whole ‘gender reveal’ thing is embarrassing and idiotic , but at least there is some fake tension to the ‘is it a boy of girl ? ‘ revelation. With a pregnancy ‘reveal’ what is happening ? - is it the first time the mother knows, because she has peed on the stick and immediately pops it in a balloon and blows it up before looking at it ? Wouldn’t it be a damp squib ( as well as a damp balloon 🤢) if the result was negative ?

Very rum behaviour.

AllTakenSoRubbishUsername · 06/12/2018 15:53

The thing about that is, if all you have to show for a pregnancy is a pee stick, then you are 'revealing' too early, imo. It is good advice to wait for the 12 week mark, and then a scan picture is so much a nicer thing to see than an impersonal and urine soaked stick!!

theonlyKevin · 06/12/2018 15:54

Meh, can't get worked up about that one. Not my thing, but if people are happy and excited over a new pregnancy, good for them. I like Facebook for exactly that reason, you publish whatever you want on your wall, but others are free to ignore. So much better than an email that puts you on the spot.

I am more puzzled by people spending large amounts on a visit to a grotto for a baby, but again, if they are happy.

The only thing I found twatish are the cake smash photoshoots.

This made me laugh so much. Imagine 7 months of balloon popping before you got your BFP 🤣

SilverDoe · 06/12/2018 16:04

Nobody new I was pregnant both times until I posted a picture of a newborn as my new profile picture Grin

I hate social media.

AdamNichol · 06/12/2018 16:25

Less baby shower, more golden shower

Loyaultemelie · 06/12/2018 16:31

Is the pregnancy test actually inside a balloon?? Like a real balloon not some animated Facebook-y balloon??

PrtScn · 06/12/2018 16:33

I kept my pregnancy off social media and only told a few people in person but let them tell whoever they wanted. I also didn’t bother with things like baby showers and gender reveals. So I laughed my ass off when a friend jokingly asked if my partner was getting me a push present. Apparently it’s an actual thing

knockknockknock · 06/12/2018 16:33

@AdamNichol 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂🤣😂

ScrantonTheElectricCity · 06/12/2018 16:33

What next?? The ''we are trying for a baby tonight - wish us luck!"" status?

Rhiannon13 · 06/12/2018 16:35

Anything for attention. Literally anything. 'Like' addicts are hideous and it's the main reason I've come off Facebook.
