To ask about confidence driving?

I had quite a bad car accident 2 weeks ago and I’m now terrified of driving! I used to drive everywhere, have to drive for work and it’s starting to efffect my life now.
If you’ve had a crash did that anxiety ever go or you just constantly a nervous driver now? Also having to drive a manual when I’ve driven an auto for 7 years isn’t helping.

I’m not sure what to say apart from💐💐
I had terrible car crash in July and now have a bigger quite expensive German car (DH’s choice) and I’m finding driving terrifying at present thinking of doing advanced driving course.

@NotUmbongoUnchained I had a horrible crash in January my car was a write of not my fault.
I find driving where I had the accident I get quite nervy but my confidence has come back now it has taken time.
Just keep on driving don't stop xx

It is natural your confidence has been knocked. You need to drive every day short safe journeys and build up. When you are more confident the Advanced Driving Training would be an excellent think but maybe early days. Try not to avoid driving or you will get worse

You will get your confidence back like @tistheseason when I had an accident, I struggled for a long time to go down that road (which was my way to work so a big inconvenience to myself) but I did eventually do it and now I rarely think about it when I drive it.

Would refresher lessons or doing an IAM course help?

I had a very bad head on crash, I was very nervous for a good while either. I’m fine now, although even though it’s years later I do occasionally get nervous at night

Thankfully my husband got his license back a month ago so we’re not completely screwed! I’ve been managing a few school runs but I’m very nervous and keep stalling Sad then getting flustered. I had to pull over this morning and just cry.
