To ring school?

Teen DD has sen. She is usually not in trouble and is well behaved.
This week she was given a detention for a very minor infringement which is part of a new target school have brought in for everyone. Not behaviour based. They actually told her she wasn't in any trouble and was usually the go to person but still had to do the detention because it was the new rules.

She is having quite a lot of anxiety about school at the moment and is rather struggling in general with being there from a social and emotional side. She doesn't want to be there at all and she is exploding at home.

She's gone absolutely beserk at lunch. Said she can't find the staff member she's in detention with, she has refused to ask anyone to try and find him and rang and text me absolutely kicking off threatening to leave school etc because she doesn't feel it's 'right'

Aibu to ring them ? I don't what her to be treated differently because of her Sen but she is going beserk and threatening to come home.

I'd ring them and mention her sen and that she's very anxious but don't try and get her out of it, make it clear that she has to sit the detention if she broke the rule.

I'd also follow this up later with the senco, see if there is anything you can do to reduce her anxiety eg a timeout card.

Oh I'm not wanting her not to do the detention. I'm just scared she will try and leave school and awaiting the huge meltdown tonight :(
