Would you be happy to put your 13 month old in the middle seat of your car obviously in a car seat?

Yes. It's the safest seat as long as it has the correct restraint.

SoyDora · 05/12/2018 09:43

Yes, why not? As long as it has a proper car seat and restraint it’s as safe as any other.

Probably me being pfb then 🙈

I think so. It's usually the oldest child who ends up in the middle because they tend to have the less bulky seat or booster - being the eldest, but I don't think there really are other reasons.

Some people even put their baby seat on the front seat - which is the most dangerous seat in the car!

I think the concern about middle seats was becasue many cars didn't have a proper 3 point harness in the middle seat, just a lap belt. As many cars now have isofix and/or a proper 3 point harness it's no longer an issue.

it's actually the safest seat providing correct seat belt/car seat are used.

Yep, as others have said, it's actually the safest option if your car has the proper fixings for it (ie. not a lap belt and/or proper isofix fittings).
