I have just read forty pages of thread and it’s almost full! Let us congregate here for answers!

I think the clue is in the way @Derek and the Boswell OP phrased their responses, especially the italics and highlighting in Derek's - and that @IAmPorcupine is correct. There is no answer. They have both said either " I can't tell you the answer" or "I can't explain it" because it is literally that. No answer.

This makes no sense though because in the post at the start of this thread that collects all the theories there is both "Mornington Crescent" and "a load of bollocks" as theories.

OP said in her "I know but can't tell you" post that none of those theories in that list were there answer.

No answer is the same as a load of bollocks or Mornington Crescent - it's closer to Mornington Crescent really because it maintains the pretence realises this post is major Mornington Crescent heresy for which I apologise but Boswell has sent me insane

IamAporcupine · 05/12/2018 17:12

no, it is not a joke as in fanny haha

IamAporcupine · 05/12/2018 17:15

SmilingButClueless
I only know that I know nothing

Florries · 05/12/2018 17:16

Leave your fanny out of it porcupine unless it will tell us the answer

6demandingchildren · 05/12/2018 17:16

FFS I have asked many people about this, now they keep asking me if I know.
It's just all to much for me.

IamAporcupine · 05/12/2018 17:17

oops Grin

AnastasiaVonBeaverhausen · 05/12/2018 17:18

@jollyoldsoul OI don't think I didn't see you. Come back and tell all.

DonDrapersOldFashioned · 05/12/2018 17:20

This thread is ludicrous. As for the the ‘troll’ telling everyone that they’ve got the answer now but couldn’t possibly tell you. Sorrrrrrrreeeeeeeeyyyyyyy.

ODFOD.

The ‘riddle’ doesn’t make sense, it’s like a joke made up by a 5 year old. Total nonsense. I can’t believe adult women have been tying themselves up in knots over it for 1500 posts. [confusing]

IamAporcupine · 05/12/2018 17:21

This makes no sense though because in the post at the start of this thread that collects all the theories there is both "Mornington Crescent" and "a load of bollocks" as theories.

the mornington Crescent and the load of bollocks theory are not the same

the answer is not 'is a pile of rubbish' the answer is there is no answer!

(although of course I might be wrong!)

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee · 05/12/2018 17:21

DerekTheWonderDog

C’mon, you can’t seriously think your post about the coins on the suitcase thread is an ‘anecdote’. It’s clearly a riddle. I don’t think it’s weird to find it weird that you’ve posted about riddles on two ‘odd’ threads.

Also, why on earth are you saying I’m cross with you when I’ve not said or implied anything like it.

I admit to checking posters other threads. I was curious about who the main players on this thread were. I don’t find that w

BTW. The message I posted on the suitcase thread was exactly the same one that I posted on this thread. I had mistakenly posted it in the wrong thread.

I’ll post a picture of your post on the suitcase thread again.

AnastasiaVonBeaverhausen · 05/12/2018 17:22

the answer is not 'is a pile of rubbish' the answer is there is no answer!

Yes exactly that! What I was trying very ineloquently to explain.

dogzdinner · 05/12/2018 17:22

I would have preferred a fanny joke

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee · 05/12/2018 17:22

*W = wierd

DonDrapersOldFashioned · 05/12/2018 17:22

Of course should be Confused

JennyOnAPlate · 05/12/2018 17:23

This is taking up way too much of my life, but I don't seem to be able to leave Confused

IamAporcupine · 05/12/2018 17:25

AnastasiaVonBeaverhausen Phew! I thought I was going mental Grin

IknowTheBoswellJoke · 05/12/2018 17:25

It's like a trap. You only get out once you realise that you don't need an answer, because there isn't one.

An answer would then make it into what it's not. It's not a riddle. It's not a question. It's a trap.

TinselBee · 05/12/2018 17:26

Can't believe this is still going, tried to keep myself away from it today but I've been pulled back haha

BloodyUseless · 05/12/2018 17:26

Look, there are clearly no earthly consequences to revealing the solution to a riddle, that much is clear (unless you go with the devil theory from earlier...).

So what other possible reason could there be that you cannot reveal the answer? Because by revealing the answer it becomes incorrect. It is therefore impossible to reveal the correct answer. I could of course reveal an answer, such as "It's a for/four" pun but that would be incorrect, by definition, along with all the other "revealed" answers on the summary post.

I have an answer, which I'm not going to reveal to anyone. I know I'm right, I suggest you all do the same.

Storm4star · 05/12/2018 17:28

and if there is no answer, then saying there is no answer answers the question, which makes the fact there is no answer incorrect

I think it has to be this. It's the one thing that makes sense. Bloody stupid though!

CasanovaFrankenstein · 05/12/2018 17:30

I think this is guerilla marketing for Bose, like the sodding disappeared candle thread.

AnastasiaVonBeaverhausen · 05/12/2018 17:32

The language used by the OP The BAD news is.....I really can't tell you the answer.
AND Derek (unfortunately I can't find the post but something along the lines of "I really can not say the answer" with similar highlightinf etc) is very specific. It's something to do with that.

alligatorsmile · 05/12/2018 17:33

I'll disappear a candle up Boswell's arse if I catch up with him/her, I don't care if it's by the post office OR library.

dogzdinner · 05/12/2018 17:34

it feels like when someone tries to play an April fools trick on you and you say 'April fool?' And they assure you it's not and then it is.
