I know what OH has got me for christmas....... what would you do!

Hi,

New here but not sure who I can tell this too or get advice as I dont want people to think I am being ungrateful! So obvs its christmas soon and I have found out what the OH has got me..... He said he took a risk getting this... which worried me and I then came across his list for what he has got me....

Its an electric toothbrush..... not a cheap one either. I dont know what to do because I feel really disappointed as I thought he knew me better than that... like is he trying to say something?? My teeth are fine by the way.... but seriously... an electric toothbrush...! I know my face will say it all when I open it in front of everyone... I am now dreading it and dont want to hurt his feelings.

What do I do!?

Yes. I had to switch to le chameau as the Hunter quality has really gone downhill. Last pair didn't even last one winter. Le Chameau are way better, if less fashionable. My pair have gone through 5 New England winters and are still perfect.

Electric toothbrushes are the bomb. You'll have much easier cleanings.

He could be playing a joke on you OP - a bit coincidental he made a note on his phone of his Xmas list for you with items ticked off when you’d already made a list for him on his notes. I don’t think he would’ve let you add to your existing list in case you saw his! I think he’s throwing you off the scent!

I'm not convinced he is throwing me off by the way he has talked about it...
I have already got his yes, I got him exactly what he asked got, which is a smart watch which wasn't cheap! So I think I am also disappointed because I got him what he wanted off his list and he couldn't do the same.. X x

A new electric toothbrush is no 1 on my Christmas list this year (mine has stopped working)🤗
I love practical gifts!

I was not pleased about being given a set of saucepans though. There are limits ...
Having said that, husband has a Wol frying pan on HIS list (would be Masterchef!)

I'm a bit suprised that you exchanged lists of what you wanted tbh, kinda defeats the point of bothering to wrap it up if you already know what it is. This thread has reminded me I need a new electric toothbrush though!

On the Shop well for less programme the Superdrug £20 toothbrush did just as well as the Sonicare one.

So get him to get a refund, buy the £20 toothbrush and use the rest for something you really want.

The fact he’s made a big deal saying he’s taken a risk etc makes me think all the more he’s pulling your leg. He’s probably bought an engagement ring or else... you’ll have lovely sparkly teeth

If he's got you other stuff from your list maybe just accept it as a bonus gift you never knew you wanted. At least he is putting a bit of effort into it and not just buying everything from your list cos he doesn't know what else to buy 😂

Don't buy Hunters OP they are crap. You need Aigle ones. I walk about 4/5 miles a day in mine and hate taking them off. I've even been known to wear them to work.....!!

My DH bought me an electric toothbrush on Black Friday 2017. Honestly it was a great present! My teeth have never been in better condition.
I'm not sure I'd want it as a Christmas present though. In this situation I'd do what someone else said and buy myself one so he has to return it and choose something else from the actual list of things you do want.
