AIBU to wonder if it's possible to find comfy but relatively stylish 'home' trousers (I.e. tracksuit bottoms)?

I have a scruffy pair I wear around the house (hate wearing jeans at home). I'd like a pair I'm not embarrassed to answer the door in but are still super comfortable with a loose waist.

Anyone?

Next has lovely jersey tapered jogging bottoms, they usually have a few different colours and patterns in stock. I live in mine and they've lasted years now and don't look scruffy

Nateismine · 04/12/2018 18:17

Me and Em have just what you want-at a price! The Palazzo pants are super comfy and also the side stripe joggers.

EvaHarknessRose · 04/12/2018 18:19

Yoga pants (although they are in practice much like the wide legged trousers I wear to work, they definitely don’t feel as smart).

These are the ones I'm talking about. They don't have many designs at the moment but generally have loads more in spring and summer

OneStepSideways · 04/12/2018 18:22

Velour joggers look a bit smarter. Make sure they're fitted and hide the waistband with a long top/tunic.

I have some work trousers from TKMaxx that are smart joggers, they're stretchy with a fleecy lining and elastic waist, and piping down the front of the leg so they look tailored!

OneStepSideways · 04/12/2018 18:26

Those Next jersey joggers look like pj bottoms to me! Gorgeous for lounging at home but too baggy and low slung for work.

If you can get joggers in a smartish fabric, just hide the waistband and ankle cuffs (tunic, boots etc) and nobody will know they're not proper trousers :-)

TinklyLittleLaugh · 04/12/2018 18:34

I have M and S wide legged stretchy cotton yoga pants in black, navy and dark grey. They are super comfy and I quite happily pop to the corner shop in them. I wear them with long sleeved cotton T shirts so I'm basically in pyjamas most days Grin

littlepeas · 04/12/2018 18:36

Hush Amie joggers or harems.

Annebronte · 04/12/2018 18:36

Me and Em palazzos

zgaze · 04/12/2018 18:38

Hush harems are the traditional vaguely stylish trousers for your inner slob

SaucyJack · 04/12/2018 18:40

Yeah- get harem pants and then you look bohemian rather than slobby.

iabvvu · 04/12/2018 18:40

@OneStepSideways the OP didn't say she wanted to wear them to work - just to wear at home without being embarrassed to answer the door. They seemed to meet the criteria.

ChampagneSocialist1 · 04/12/2018 18:40

these Asda joggers look and feel great and only £10

ShatnersBassoon · 04/12/2018 18:43

I don't wear joggers, but I have some stretchy and warm pull-on trousers from M&S. I can even leave the house in them!

AnyFucker · 04/12/2018 18:46

Hush. A bit pricey but totally worth it

DoJo · 04/12/2018 18:50

Do any of these suggestions have pockets? I NEED pockets in my loungewear!

kmc1111 · 04/12/2018 18:58

Thick ponte leggings. They’re comfy, they don’t look like crap after a few washes like a lot of loungewear does, and they’re fine to go out in.

ShatnersBassoon · 04/12/2018 19:14

Yes, the M&S ones do ^^

I'm with you on pockets. DH thinks I'm mad for wanting pockets in every dress. He doesn't know what they're for! (Neither do I really, buy I know I miss them when I don't have any.)

Racecardriver · 04/12/2018 19:18

try OSHYO

icelollycraving · 04/12/2018 19:46

You need apartment pants.

MrsMWA · 04/12/2018 19:47

Zara home lounge wear

PirateWeasel · 04/12/2018 19:51

OMG I needed the answer to this question too. Thanks!

GetOffTheTableMabel · 04/12/2018 19:54

Hush harem pants have pockets.
Sweaty Betty do some good options (but generally pocketless).

Stickmanslittleleaf · 04/12/2018 20:07

I Googled the Hush pair and I have basically the same thing from the Primark lounge section! I'm sure they still sell them because I got one pair for my c-section 4 years ago and the same ones for my cs last year. No pockets though.
I wear leggings from H&M and either a long vest or long sleeved top or a long hoodie to mooch about in. Does me for dogwalking/ answering door/ popping to the shop.
