I actually find them quite offensive!

CrispbuttyNo1 · 04/12/2018 12:13

Offensive? Why? Confused

AjasLipstick · 04/12/2018 12:13

Crisp well for SOME people, Christmas retains it's original message.

PinkHeart5914 · 04/12/2018 12:14

Offensive why, how?

This Christmas I will be very merry as I will be full of gin and champagne so 🤷🏻‍♀️These are my kind of cards

mimibunz · 04/12/2018 12:14
Biscuit
GreatestShowUnicorn · 04/12/2018 12:15

Original message a pagan holiday commandeered by the church?

lastqueenofscotland · 04/12/2018 12:15

Not in the best taste, but not offensive

Oblomov18 · 04/12/2018 12:15

Eh?
I don't even like Prosecco. But offensive? Hardly.

RangeRider · 04/12/2018 12:15

Granted they miss the whole idea of Christmas (Christ's birth, that whole thing!) but offensive? I'm not seeing that. Tacky yes, but the whole gin o'clock bollocks makes me roll my eyes. This is just more of that to me. I wouldn't buy them but if someone else did, hey ho (ho, ho)

showmewhatyougot · 04/12/2018 12:16

Unless they were given to your toddler with a bottle of gin, I wouldn't waste time being offended Biscuit

Funnyface1 · 04/12/2018 12:16

I'm not offended but I do think they're pretty horrible.

EerieSilence · 04/12/2018 12:16

@Dairyqueen2 - I don't drink alcohol. I found them still very inoffensive.

ElainaElephant · 04/12/2018 12:19

Not particularly funny, and certainly not clever.

But not everyone that celebrates Christmas is religious, and some do use it as an excuse for a party, so I can see it has its place.

I don't think Jesus would spend too much time worrying about it though. He had more important things to be getting on with.

ghostsandghoulies · 04/12/2018 12:20

Tacky but not offensive imho.

Nothisispatrick · 04/12/2018 12:20

Well they’re a bit tacky, but not offensive. If you find them offensive because they’re not about Christ’s birth, what about all the Christmas cards with penguins, reindeer, Father Christmas, snowy cottages etc? They’re not about Jesus either.

Amanduh · 04/12/2018 12:21

Offensive 😂😂😂

68Anon · 04/12/2018 12:21

Op. How can a card offend you? You're choosing to be offended by the cards. The messages may be silly but why are you choosing to be offended by them?
Just look at them and move on. Life is far too short to be offended by silly messages on cards.

OliviaStabler · 04/12/2018 12:22

Far worse cards out there than these.

Not offensive at all. I bought my friend a card that said I wish her a white Christmas but if it runs out go onto the red Grin We both found it funny.

Merrychristmasyoufilthyanimals · 04/12/2018 12:24

tacky - yes
offensive - no

werideatdawn · 04/12/2018 12:24

Contact the Daily Mail 😆

SillySallySingsSongs · 04/12/2018 12:24

Crispwell for SOME people, Christmas retains it's original message.

So don't buy these cards then. 🤷🏼‍♀️

brizzledrizzle · 04/12/2018 12:25

They are pretty naff but they aren't offensive this is offensive - to some anyway.

Caprisunorange · 04/12/2018 12:25

Is alcohol offensive? Or just when it’s mixed with Xmas?

Alcohol is a BIG part of my Christmas.

QuestionableMouse · 04/12/2018 12:26

People have been getting hammered at Christmas for as long as there has been Christmas.

Get a grip.

Buddyelf · 04/12/2018 12:30

They don't offend me as such but they are in bad taste. 'oh come let us adore Gin' is particularly distasteful but I would just eye roll and walk on by if I'm honest.
I can see why people would be offended by them, Christmas is a christian celebration of the birth of Jesus so to replace his name with Gin isn't great but then again most Christmas cards are covered in Snowmen and Reindeer and they have nothing to do with Jesus either!

BrightYellowDaffodil · 04/12/2018 12:30

What, a pagan feasting period? This being before Christianity came and overlaid it with its own festival, of course. So in the original context of a mid-winter festival, the cards are fine.
