I really cannot afford anything for my family. I am in so much debt- single latent etc . I can’t afg to cover the usual debts let alone Xmas . I’ve been to step change but I’m drowning in debt. I am googling for free Xmas tress as my son asked if we would have. Xmas treee this year. I said yes as I couldn’t bare to tell him it’s yet something else I can’t afford. :-((

Yanbu. What did Step change advise? I hope someone local us replacing their tree. You can get fairy lights for a couple if quid from the Range and you could put those in your son's room to feel Christmassy if not.

I know when I first became a single parent I was very grateful for a neighbour who put us some outside lights.

Might be worth contacting your local church to see if they know what help there is locally over Christmas too.
