Prepared to be told I am unreasonable

Dd is 4. Was diagnosed in April with severe sleep apnea and put on the local hospital wait list for adenoidtonsillectomy. Call a few days later saying the local hospital wanted it done at the bigger university hospital 40 minutes away fine no problem. By the time the transfer went through she was seen November. Just been told today that it is a 35 week wait for the operation from that November appointment. Which takes us to june/July... am I being unreasonable that they can't leave her until 15 months after being told about the need for the operation and how utterly miserable our lives are because of it for it to actually happen? I'm so frustrated.

Ds is also on the waiting list and has been since September for recurrent tonsilitis but because he was transferred straight to the hospital because of his age we haven't had the massive delay dd has so he will end up having his first. :(

The NHS is struggling to keep up with demand. If you can afford it go private

Bugsymalonemumof2 · 03/12/2018 15:18

Not a chance of affording private, I lost my job due to how much sick leave I had to take between the grief both kids tonsils have caused. Most upset about dd as she has been waiting so much longer than ds and she starts school September

YANBU. This is one result of decades of underfunding.
