Hiya, I’ve just started working with a new team at work and need some ideas for my secret Santa, I’ve got to spend £10 and the guy I have picked out I don’t know at all. We’ve been told to be creative! I’ve no idea and I don’t want to make a bad impression! Thank you.

2 bottles of Craft ales.

treacledan71 · 02/12/2018 13:50

Does he like sport? Put a small bet on on his team to win a certain score and put slip with another little present.

@Sack
Where the fuck are you shopping where a bottle of ale costs £5. If the limit is £10 I'd expect at least 4 bottles of bear.

Crap wrap at Firebox.com
£12.99..... You don't know what's in it...recommended for secret Santa gifts where the people don't know who buys the gift they
get. The wrapping is random...apparently very popular....look it up...

Smoked salmon
Nice olive oil
Cheese and biscuits

DorisDances · 02/12/2018 14:30

Nice pair of socks - chunky walking type that outdoor types will love and indoor types will enjoy the cosiness!

"Get creative" hmm. I would probably make something. Chocolate orange fudge is yummy and very easy. www.janespatisserie.com/2016/07/21/terrys-chocolate-orange-fudge/

Make some mince pies and get some cheese and biscuits = christmas hamper.

Belindabauer · 02/12/2018 14:57

A tie
Slippers
Smellies
A mug with hot chocolate in .
A game.

Mouseville65 · 02/12/2018 14:57

Does he have a beard? I bought the bulldog beard grooming set for £9.99 from Sainsbury's for last years secret Santa and Iv never seen a man get so excited about a gift 🤣

stayingaliveisawayoflife · 02/12/2018 16:36

I always remember the year a Male colleague was given an enormous pair of y-fronts by Secret Santa. I think that was the year I got a pair of frilly girly knickers. I loved them and wore them until they fell to bits. Do have to know your fellow workers pretty well for that sort of gift.

Have you got time to knit him a bobble hat? That would be creative. Otherwise buy a cheap one and sew fabric letters on spelling his name.

PylonsPylonsPylons · 02/12/2018 17:41

You must know something about him? Age? Hobbies? How does he commute to work?

snakeinthebrantub · 02/12/2018 17:42

Thank you for your suggestions, I might go with bottles of ale, can anyone recommend any good ones?

This notebook with a fancy pencil and a rubber.

Fullers&Friends selection do not give a book with sexual innuendos this is the reason I gave up on Office secret Santa’s for years they are embrassing for the recipient if you don’t know them well and inappropriate gift for colleagues

jay55 · 02/12/2018 17:51

A bunch of tat from poundland, sweets and puzzles.

MikeUniformMike · 02/12/2018 17:53

Where can I get bottled bear?

Workreturner · 02/12/2018 17:54

4 national lottery lucky dips

Workreturner · 02/12/2018 17:54

5 sorry

rainbowquack · 02/12/2018 18:33

I don't think bottled beer/bear or sweets are anything creative. Just dull and ordinary. Have a little flair, it's just a daft laugh, nothing serious!

These are always winners, you can find cheaper but this is a rainbow one!

cheesydoesit · 02/12/2018 18:36

I got my male colleague a game of Twister one Christmas. He was off to a party at the end of his shift so it went down well.
