Be careful with wood. If it's a sealed wood floor it should be fine with a quick pass, but you may want to test a small inconspicuous area first to be sure. I love mine!

Your teeth. Your DH’s scrotum. Christmas dinner.

@tinselfest no cat unfortunately. What about the rabbits?

I'd read about wooden floors. Mine are wood effect laminate so I'm unsure but I'll try under the sofa first. I borrowed my mum's less powerful one and that seemed to be ok.

I'm so looking forward to doing the bathroom and windows and I really need a life

@confusedandemployed it's my Christmas present from my DP. It's the only thing I wanted. I confess to being a bit of a clean freak but I don't have as much time as I'd like to clean things as thoroughly as I'd like. Im genuinely excited! I've resisted a bathroom clean today in favour of seeing better results tomorrow!

I believe that it's not advisable to use team on most laminate floors, despite what some steam cleaner instructions say.

Best check with the flooring manufacturer and see what they say.

If you have an enamelled cooker or hob - check the manufacturers instructions before using steam. I inherited a black enamel Stoves range cooker when we moved house last year - and steam totally buggers up the surface of the enamel. Mind you, doing anything more severe than breathing heavily on it seems to be a no-no :(

Which is a total pain considering my last enamelled hob was regularly attacked with all sorts of harsh cleaning products, and steam, with no adverse effects.

don't steam bamboo flooring. it will kill it.
