AIBU to wonder what happens if I return something after 28 days?

Hi all,

I just wondered if anyone knows what happens if I return something after the 28 day period? Specifically to New Look.

I’m sure years ago when I was a lot younger I did this & they kept the items but didn’t refund the money which I guess is probably likely?

I recently broke my arm and I thought that this parcel had been taken back but unfortunately I just found it and it hasn’t!

Don’t want to send it back if they will keep the items and money!

Many thanks in advance!

Can't you take it into a store to return?
In T supermarket they told me it was over 28 days, but accepted it back anyway. I hadn't realised the month had gone so quickly!

I have done this once and they refunded me. I think it was only a couple of days past 28 and whoever dealt with my return must have been feeling generous. There is a chance they might refund you but I wouldn't bet on it!

Online I normally get refunded (2 months late is the longest I've left it with ASOS). In a store I find they'll generally offer a gift voucher or exchange instead if it's late. I'd just send it back through the returns label OP.

I just send it anyway on the basis that they are not going to bother sending it back! And no one ever has.

Cakecrumbsinmybra · 01/12/2018 22:38

They definitely wouldn’t keep the items and not refund you!

Thank you all!

I think I will just chance it then & hope for the best Grin.

I recently sent something back from M&S that I bought in August and it was supposed to go back with everything else. Couldn’t believe it when I saw it the other day, just hanging there. I popped a note in the parcel explaining and they refunded me.

Unfortunately can’t take it back to the shop as unable to drive still due to arm! Would be a lot easier though. New look have stopped sending returns labels in their parcels which I’m sure is great for them but makes it harder for me lol!

When did you buy it? If 28th Oct or after, you've got until end of Jan to send it back.
Any Christmas purchases made between the 28th October 2018 and the 24th December 2018 may be returned until 31st January 2019, with a valid receipt/gift receipt or order number/dispatch note.

@anonymouse thank you so much! Not 100% sure will have to check but unfortunately I think it was before that :(. Never mind!

Email their customer services and ask very nicely?

Dodie66 · 01/12/2018 23:19

I would contact them and ask first
