Dog poo

Frogletmamma · 01/12/2018 11:39

AIBU to loathe whoever keeps putting bags of dog poo in our wheelie bin. The bin now smells of poo and I don't even have a dog. Surely they should put it in their own bin?

yanbu i would stick a note on my bin! or get one of those locks??

LagerthaTheShieldMaiden · 01/12/2018 20:05

I hate it when people do this. I never would.

Having said that, a lot of people do just think a bin is a bin.

agedknees · 01/12/2018 20:06

Yanbu. Mount a surveillance team and attack with a nerf gun.

Wolfiefan · 01/12/2018 20:07

WTF? Your private bin or a massive communal one? Do they come into your property to do this?
It’s too grim for them to carry home but they don’t mind leaving it for you?!?!
Yuck. And yes. I’m a dog owner. Use public poo bins or take it home.

agedknees · 01/12/2018 20:08

Dog owner here too and I hate it when people do this. It gives all dogowners a bad reputation.

bobstersmum · 01/12/2018 20:15

I would not like this. But I'd rather it than poo left outside on the street, I had to scrub dog poo off my buggy tyres the other day. Grim.

AdoreTheBeach · 01/12/2018 20:36

I think I’d rather have that than the poo on the sidewalk outside my house.

Eseld93 · 01/12/2018 20:41

YARNBU, they should be putting it in their own bin, cheeky and gross assholes.
Write a note. please put your dog shit bags in your own bin,you dirty buggers.

LuvSmallDogs · 01/12/2018 20:45

YANBU, that’s really cheeky, either use a public bin or wait until you’re home.

CloserIAm2Fine · 01/12/2018 20:52

YANBU

I had somebody put it in my recycling bag (heavy duty plastic that is emptied and reused) once! That bag lives in my kitchen ffs! Fortunately I realised before I got it inside. The dirty bastard used a disposable glove to pick up their dogs shit but thought it was ok to leave said glove and bag of shit in my recycling bag (after emptying by the bin men, bag is left out until I get home from work)

Ronnyhotdog · 01/12/2018 20:54

Dog owner here, I would never put a poo bag in someone’s wheelie bin, it’s a shit move ( pun intended) and gives other dog owners a bad name.
Stick a note on your bin “ this is a no shit bin!”

StoneofDestiny · 01/12/2018 21:21

put your dog shit bags in your own bin you dirty buggers

Agreed (without the 'please')

Frogletmamma · 02/12/2018 16:36

Its a bin on our driveway. Defo not communal. Now rather smelly.

OP posts:
Eseld93 · 02/12/2018 22:29

Can you hide it behind a wall or bush put it even closer to your house?.
How bloody cheeky, they make an extra effort to put their dog shit on your bin. Cheek of people.Confused

Thethiniceofanewday · 02/12/2018 23:04

+1 for note. To me 'a bin's a bin' and I'd have popped a bag into someone's bin but I read a similar thread on here just after I got the dog and so never have. Your phantom poo flinger propbably just doesn't realise.

Wolfiefan · 02/12/2018 23:05

How can you not realise that shit stinks and a stranger may not want it in their bin? Confused

SemperIdem · 02/12/2018 23:18

It would necer cross my mind that anyone would do this. How strange.

However - it’s a bin? A bin that remains outside at all times?

Wolfiefan · 02/12/2018 23:19

But not their bin.
It’s gross.

AdoreTheBeach · 03/12/2018 04:36

I actually saw this yesterday driving through a high street that’s mixed residential/shops, stopped at a light. DH and I saw a man walking his dog down the street, dog poops, man cleaned it up, then reached over short brick wall where bins were kept in front garden of a house and popped the poo bag inside. Que discussion of this thread with DH. Both agreed if there’s a public bin nearby, put poo bag in there firstly. But what happens if there isn’t one? Perhaps then it’s the irresponsible case of leaving poo bags around, but putting into a nearby private bin(bag tied up). It’s highly unlikely that someone will be out walking for 20 (plus?) minutes and walk around with a filled poo bag, so surely better to dispose in a bin than leaving around irresponsibility. I have seen them hanging from trees, shoved in shrubs etc. All wrong of course. But surely it’s the lesser of two evils (or three). Agreed bin lock is likely best approach but highly likely they’ll just start using bin of next house along their route.

Just out of curiosity, what did people do before plastic poo bags and before wheelie bins?

giftsonthebrain · 03/12/2018 04:46

Except that the poo and smell is inside the bag...once dumped it’s gone smell and all.
I would prefer this to bagged poop left on the sidewalk. Obviously if this bugs you place your bin elsewhere, lock the bin, or contact the la about setting up a garbage can nearby.

AmyDowdensLeftLeftShoe · 03/12/2018 05:58

You need to get a bin lock.

StoneofDestiny · 03/12/2018 06:22

It’s highly unlikely that someone will be out walking for 20 (plus?) minutes and walk around with a filled poo bag

That is the responsibility of the dog owner. If you choose to have a dog, then have the inconvenience of having to shovel up it's shit and carry it around. It's not acceptable to inflict the stinking pile on others. When bins can be sitting around for two weeks before emptying that is a big attraction to flies to lay their eggs in it. Utterly gross.

batshitbetty · 03/12/2018 07:00

I had this with a shitty nappy, someone changed their baby on the bonnet of their car, then walked up my driveway to stick it in the bin.

I was furious as they just chucked it in there completely unwrapped, the day after bins were collected (so would sit there for two weeks) but also why couldn't they have thrown it in next doors bin? (the house that they had walked out of 5 minutes before). People are gross

agirlhasnonameX · 03/12/2018 07:40

Disgusting. I have a dog and would never do this, if I have to carry a bag around the whole of the walk then so be it but honestly there are usually public bins pretty much everywhere.
Also hate people who don't pick up at all and never understand why some dog owners do pick up, then toss the bag in a bush or on the ground, seems stupid.

Boredboredboredboredbored · 03/12/2018 08:13

YANBU at all. Last year I was renovating my new house and had a skip on the drive. There must've at least 30 bags of shit in it, I was so annoyed I put a snotty notice on the skip.

I wouldn't dream of flinging a bag of dog shit on somebodies drive so why do it to me?
