Have been laid up with the most horrific cold since Sunday. Every time I think I'm feeling a bit better I come over with another fever, or painful bout of coughing, or sneezing fit all over again. I have been taking painkillers virtually non stop since Monday evening and am well and truly FED UP.

Been feverish all of today and most of last night, I feel like I'm never going to get better. DH thinks that if I just get out of bed and get some fresh air I will miraculously feel better Confused

Please give me your best tips for moving this ghastly cold along.

To be fair be may have a point, I think sometimes getting up and out a bit does make you feel better.

Hope you feel better soonz

This was me last week. To be fair fresh air really did help. It was hard but the school run walk did quite a bit of good. Dose yourself up and have 10 minutes out walking or sit in the garden. You never know....

It’s possible your DH is right - it won’t cure you, but I always think getting up helps with a cold. Either way hope you feel better soon! Flowers

I'm with you. Been off work two days and feel rubbish. Feeling guilty for missing work and missing bedtime stories just adds to general feeling rubbish.

Sorry, but your husband is right. Laying in bed can you feel worse. It's good to get up and move around. Perhaps sit outside for a bit for some fresh air.

Otrivine sinus spray is brilliant for clearing /drying a runny stuffed up nose......
A teaspoon of vicks in a bowl of hot water (not boiling) and then putting a towel over your head and inhaling will make your eyes and nose stream but it gets rid of alot off the fluid builds up...
Vicks on your chest and back...
And lots of thin soups like chicken xx

Hope you feel better soon - it's a very nasty boy doing the round this year xx
