Having lots of these.
Some recurring, some completely bizarre shit, and some that have obvious roots.
Can anyone share theirs?

myotherhusbandisgaryoldman OMG I have that grim dream too!!

Racecardriver · 30/11/2018 11:02

I’ve had a lot of these. The first I remember I was about 3 when I dreamt that my grandparents murdered a family friend and took me with them to dispose of the body Confused

Sedgewillow · 30/11/2018 11:05

Oh babdoc Flowers why do our minds torture us like that, thinking of you x

Meangirls36 · 30/11/2018 11:09

A dog with no lips bit my knee then bits of glass kept falling out of mouth and sting was there

twoshedsjackson · 30/11/2018 11:11

I noticed when I was teaching that I had my most vivid dreams during the holidays; "catch up" sleeping, when my brain was clearing the back files of upsets which happened in term-time. The most disconcerting anxiety dreams are the ones whose details you can't actually recall in detail. Waking up with a feeling of dread almost impossible to shake off, just knowing that people are really angry with you.......
I once had a really interesting dispute with DM who awoke from a vivid dream in which she had had a flaming row with me, during which I said some terrible things (apparently)........I'll take the rap for my misdeeds, fair enough, but when somebody else has dreamt them and won't actually spell out the offence.....

Lost5stone · 30/11/2018 11:14

I had a one-off dream when I was a child that involved being chased by an invisible old lady that still haunts me now, I think it stays with me because I woke up and went to find my mum but she wasn't there.

A couple when DD was newborn about rolling onto her too that freaked me out and is the reason we never co-slept.

CookPassBabtridge · 30/11/2018 11:17

Yes same as others, when I had a newborn I kept dreaming someone was going to throw him off the roof of our 6th floor flat, or accidentally drop him off the balcony. I truly felt all the panic and horror. Awful.

LylaBee · 30/11/2018 11:20

I have that horrible toilet dream too! In a weird way I'm glad it's not only me, but I wonder what it means.

MozzchopsThirty · 30/11/2018 11:24

Yes yes yes

Last nights was so awful it's taken me all morning to recover

They seem to be getting worse and weirder. So vivid and real though, I can recall tiny details

Darkestnight · 30/11/2018 11:25

Yes had major surgery back in August and I keep dreaming off me on the operating table and watching over while they do the surgery. I wake up feeling in a sad mood and it goes on for days this feeling. I've since found out what it means and not had the dream since

Myotherhusbandisgaryoldman · 30/11/2018 11:43

Wow!
Thanks everyone for your replies. It's good to know I'm not the only one!
You've all been so honest - the worst by far I've ever had was about eating human flesh - I was eating it and then spitting it out.
Just awful.

When I was about 8 I dreamt my dad was kissing another woman and during the dream I walked up to her and slapped her face. Same dream I dreamt my mum was with an older man with white hair but I liked him. Both came true (hate my dad's wife, love my mum's husband) but can still vividly remember that dream and how it stayed with me all day in primary school and made me really upset but I couldn't tell anyone what was wrong.

PawneeParksDept · 30/11/2018 12:18

Yes and two quite recently

  1. I was married to a guy I vaguely knew in school. (In real life I haven't seen this guy in more than 10 years and I'm not on SM. )
The relationship had become abusive and I was trying to escape but no one would hear of it because he's a war hero.

  2. I was in my old school library, my favourite teacher, who was like a parent figure to me was behind a desk calling me all the names under the sun including a tart, whilst people we knew looked on -I ended up beating them in the argument by standing up for myself

But both times when I woke I felt badly shaken and it felt real

PawneeParksDept · 30/11/2018 12:21

Thanks Babdoc

EBearhug · 30/11/2018 13:11

Yes, I have very vivid dreams. We currently have a big stash of Percy Pigs on the desk because of a dream I had earlier in the week.

KeepTheBloodyNoiseDown · 30/11/2018 13:24

Last night I had a dream about my dp, who looked the same but had taken on the mannerisms of my abusive ex, facial expressions and everything, and that he was being really nasty to me (he’s a really nice guy, has never treated me badly). It really freaked me out and when I woke up and saw him I was freaked out. Think that one will stay with me for a few days.

StoatofDisarray · 30/11/2018 13:25

I dreamt I was in the back garden of my childhood home, and my beloved grandpa was there. I beat him to death with a spade and his eyes bulged out like a rabbit with myxomatosis. That was a horrid dream, and one that I have never forgotten.

TheWiseWomansFear · 30/11/2018 14:02

Yep. I murdered someone and cut off bits of their body with bolt cutters. insanely graphic. I faint at blood and have never even hit anybody in my life so it could never actually happen. I had flashbacks for weeks.

The blood was much darker than you'd expect because there was so much of it, made me realise that I must have seen a large concentration of blood at some point to know what it would look like.

Clawdy · 30/11/2018 14:15

DH dreamed he was being forced to hang his younger brother, and he was tightening a noose round his neck, weeping. They were both teenagers at the time, and many years later, it still haunts him.

TheWiseWomansFear · 30/11/2018 14:22

@ManicUnicorn I have those epic dreams!! I once dreamt an entire life. 80 years as a women called Marguerite. I was 10 years old and woke up completely out of it, confused about who I was.
I've ridden on several dragons, saved the world from mega volcanoes. They're insane and wonderful and I write them down as novel inspiration.

TheWiseWomansFear · 30/11/2018 14:33

@Bailiffhelpplease you've never had a dream? Ever? I have them almost every night!!
Do you have a diagnosis as to why?

TheWiseWomansFear · 30/11/2018 14:39

Oh, I've remembered another! When I was a kid, I dreamt that my mum was beating me with a brush. It was so vivid I thought it was real and told my aunt, who confronted my mother! That was an awkward Sunday lunch...

Sammy900 · 30/11/2018 14:45

I often - maybe 4/5 times per year sometimes more have a recurring dream that I have buried a body and I'm trying not to get caught but feel the investigation is closing in on me. This is in a variety of forms including, body buried under the house, in the garden, under the floor boards, chopped up in an old fire place, in the sea, in the boot of a car, under the floor of a public toilet, etc, etc - all sorts, but similar main theme.

I usually wake up in a panic thinking - am I really a murderer?? until I slowly realise it was a dream again. I've started writing them down to try and make some sense of it ?? My subconsciousness is trying to tell me something but I still don't know what it is.....

I have also had really surreal dreams...and can usually wake myself up out of a nightmare but in a weird battle of consciousness my dream "me" tries to find new bizzarre ways to frighten me even more (but I can still wake myself up)

Lots of people having drowned baby dreams on here how awful :(

MatildaTheCat · 30/11/2018 14:49

I once dreamt that I suddenly remembered that I had murdered someone years ago and concealed their body behind the shed at our old house. I was absolutely terrified and for weeks after I wasn’t totally sure if I really had or hadn’t done this. Fortunately my logical brain said that space was far too small to conceal even a cat. Awful feeling.

I then had recurring screaming nightmares when I had PTSD but they have gradually got better. The theme was always about being attacked or murdered by someone close to me. Icing on the cake was that I always started the dream by dreaming that I’d just woken up so to me it was absolutely real. Sad

Poor DH has had to waken me too often.

DisrespectfulAdultFemale · 30/11/2018 14:54

A friend of mine once recounted a dream in which he stumbled the funeral of the King of the Cats in a forest clearing.

The cats were on their hind legs and dancing around in a circle but stopped to stare at the intruder while chanting menacingly "We know; we know".
