Having lots of these.
Some recurring, some completely bizarre shit, and some that have obvious roots.
Can anyone share theirs?

I always have very vivid dreams, always have, to the extent that I really enjoy going to sleep because it’s like living another life. I can also control my dreams to an extent and often have a fair degree of insight so a lot of things that are disturbing don’t upset me because I know I’m dreaming.
However I did once dream that I saw my dd being run over by a double decker bus which was very disturbing and definitely affected me for a few days.
I also had a lovely dream involving a lake, a boat and Tim burgess, that stayed with me for a few days too.

One in which my youngest son fell into a small drain and drowned, feel I'll just typing this.

Fatasfook · 30/11/2018 09:40

I often dream that I’m trying to find or get to my children but can’t. Horrifying

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 30/11/2018 09:46

"I had a dream my husband and close friend were Nobbing each other"

. Gamer, I must say "You have such a lovely way with words"Grin

I sometimes have a dream where I suddenly "remember" that I've committed a horrible crime, I can't undo it and will be found out. It's normally quite vague, but it's like I've murdered someone, forgot about it and then just suddenly remember. The horror is in the irrevocability of it. I wake up distressed, but it's almost worth it for the massive sense of relief and a weight being lifted as reality returns and I realise I'm not a murderer Grin

I have that toilet dream too - trying to find a clean one but all of them are either filthy or broken - wonder what it means?

Most vivid dream was as an early teen, I had a crystal clear dream that I was a young woman in the early part of the 20th century (long dresses, parasol) picnicking with friends, young men in boaters etc, and I was totally and utterly in love with one of them. Remember feeling total bliss, laughing together in the sun, then there was a massive explosion and just darkness. It was so real that for a while (until I grew up!) I was convinced it must have really happened at some point to me in a previous life and I was reliving it in my dream Blush

BirthdayKake · 30/11/2018 09:48

I had a dream that I hired this huge bloke to torture my two year old while I waited in another room. I will NEVER forget those screams!

Also had a dream that I left my daughters in the bath alone and one of them called out "Mummy, look! We're playing a game where we see who can stay under the water the longest. The baby has been there for ages and won't come back up!" I raced upstairs but she had drowned :(

harleyquinnx · 30/11/2018 09:49

I had one where I was captured on my way to nursery to collect my son and tied to a chair at gun point. And begging "please let me see my son one more time please" I woke up crying. Upset me all day SadSad

megletthesecond · 30/11/2018 09:50

Yes. As a kid I had a recurring dream about being trapped in a haunted house with a little gnome creature.
I've had a couple of horrendous dreams about the holocaust as an adult. And recently I had one about the dc's being kidnapped.
I end up quite shaken by them.

hammeringinmyhead · 30/11/2018 10:01

I have a 4 week old. Last week I dreamed I woke up from a C-section and was told he had a horrible disease and wouldn't survive, so they needed me to hold him while they gave him a euthanising injection. I woke up absolutely in a panic.

NewLevelsOfTiredness · 30/11/2018 10:03

About six months after moving in with my girlfriend and her two little girls, I dreamed I had taken the then-2yr old to daycare, and the building collapsed as I walked out.

I couldn't find her body in the rubble and I had to tell my girlfriend her little girl had died in my care.

The effect when I woke up - I wasn't just crying but actually knelt by the toilet dry-heaving for a few minutes.

A few weeks later I dreamed that the older sister was ripped out of my arms by a tsunami.

It's a couple of years ago now and I still have dreams about failing them and letting them come to harm :(

PatchworkElmer · 30/11/2018 10:05

I had a dream that DH told me he didn’t love me any more a couple of weeks ago, and I’m still upset!

Dontgiveamonkeys1350 · 30/11/2018 10:05

I had sex with Paul Hollywood. Man that one stayed with me for days.

romany4 · 30/11/2018 10:09

Yes.
I dreamt when my boys were small, that someone had broken into my house and stabbed my DH to death. And then killed our boys.
In my dream, the Police came to my work to tell me and then I had to identify them all. It was horrific
I woke up really upset and can still remember it. I think it was about 18 years ago now. Just awful

yesmelord · 30/11/2018 10:23

I have a re occurring dream that I go back to school and try to escape with a boy who I was so in love with but we lost touch. We escape to a photo booth where I always tell him how much I love him and then I wake up.

Then I feel so so guilty for a few days after because I love my DH.

YetAnotherUser · 30/11/2018 10:33

I once had dream where I went into space. The mission was a complete success, and it was celebrated worldwide! Such a wonderful dream.

Then it was time to come back to earth, and it was broadcast around the globe. I had a brief radio chat with my kids who were very excited and were watching it live.

Then as the capsule headed to earth, the heat shield failed, and the it all went wrong. My children literally watched me burning alive, live on TV. It was harrowing.

Then I woke up, and thought "Jesus christ brain, that shit was dark."

Vonvon222 · 30/11/2018 10:34

I had one a couple of weeks ago that was so real.

I was walking over a huge bridge with dh and dd (11). I heard this wooshing sound like something heavy falling from the sky. Everyone stopped and looked up and it was a nuclear bomb....it landed quite a bit behind us and we started running. I had dds hand but she fell. I was trying to drag her and run at the same time and I lost grip of her hand. There was so many people running I lost her in the crowd and when I found her she was gone. It was so real, I was sobbing when I woke up. In the dream I picked her up and continued running. I caught up with dh, blood started pouring from his nose and eyes and he was writhing around on the ground. I just remember standing there screaming looking at the devastation around me.

Snowwontbelong · 30/11/2018 10:38

Dreamed dd drowned in front of me - we live at the beach and creeps me out still..

thecatsthecats · 30/11/2018 10:40

I had a dream so vivid that I began writing a book. 43 days later I'd completed my first 120k word book in a series based upon that dream!

DontCallMeCharlotte · 30/11/2018 10:42

Yes. About José Mourinho. I was blushing for days Wink

naicepineapple · 30/11/2018 10:44

I had a nightmare as a child that seemed to go on for weeks (in reality it would have only been one night). I still think about it sometimes now.

Babdoc · 30/11/2018 10:45

For years after DH died, I had a recurring dream that he was still alive. I would walk him to the churchyard to show him his grave, and he would hug me and laugh and ask how I could possibly think he was dead. I felt such relief that it had all just been a mistake, and our babies had not lost their father.
And then, each morning, I had to wake up and face the truth. It was like a fresh bereavement every time.

naicepineapple · 30/11/2018 10:47

@Babdoc Thanks

crispysausagerolls · 30/11/2018 10:53

OP I have the exact same dream!!

Also often have one where I’m at the edge of an enclosed beach and waves keep rising and rising and crashing over me, have to keep holding my breath and can’t escape.

Also often have a nightmare about being in a house with hundreds of snakes 😑

FunshineCareBear · 30/11/2018 10:57

I can't remember any but I do know what you mean. When they haunt you for days.

Do you all dream about the actual people in your lives? It's very rare I dream about my family and when I do, whilst I fully believe the person in my dream is my dh/dm/kids, they're not the same people as they are in real life.
