That this decision by Rotherham Council is unbelievable!

Well, not really unbelievable in this era of craziness but make me furious. It seems like the girls who were victims of these gangs still don't have any value (judging by the subsequent treatment by the Council) and their emotional and physical wellbeing is completely dismissed so that a rapist can see his child. What were Rotherham Council thinking!!??

Yes its awful isnt it ,but if she was 15 when she was pregnannt and shes 33 than her son must be 18 oe nearly 18 now?

TheQueef · 28/11/2018 11:49

Arshid (the rapist) has had very vocal opinions, as did his brother.
Surely fucking safeguarding is relevant and enough to stop it?

AnguaUberwaldIronfoundersson · 28/11/2018 11:53

I beggars belief.

Oh I know... this guy raped a minor and got her pregnant, groomed and raped countless others and systematically abused them for years. He’s been charged, found guilty and is currently in prison for these crimes... but what a great role model and father he would be for a young teenager and who gives a shit that the child’s mother would have to enable contact...

I can’t tell if they’re suffering from “poor menz” syndrome, ridiculous political correctness or just plain stupid.

Merryoldgoat · 28/11/2018 11:55

I’m entirely unsurprised which is really depressing.

ModreB · 28/11/2018 12:00

Having worked within a council, I am also sad that I am not suprised. If her son has complex needs, the council will get involved with him as an adult.

mothertruck3r · 28/11/2018 12:08

It's like they are more concerned about the human rights of a rapist than the actual victim!

What's so sad is that all this happened to this poor woman over 15 years ago yet she can have no peace. Not only has she been groomed and raped by her rapist, she now has it all brought up again and is basically being fucked over by the Council.

No wonder so many rape and sexual abuse victims don't speak up when they see how others are treated, even years down the line...

It is disgusting, and a very dark times when criminals rights are put above those of their victims.

Propertywoe · 28/11/2018 12:10

The men may have been found guilty but it does seem that these women will always be judged and treated by some officials as an underclass.

TheQueef · 28/11/2018 12:12

They operate in this pc bubble trying to out woke each other.
Tough shit for victims but the council can look progressive.

ajandjjmum · 28/11/2018 12:12

What is even more shocking is that the Council told him that he was able to ask for contact - it was his human rights to be told! Bloody shame these people don't use common sense occasionally. The poor child has got enough to cope with - whatever his age, as well as his Mum.

WTFIsAGleepglorp · 28/11/2018 12:15

The news reports state that the boy has "complex needs", suggesting he's physically and/or mentally disabled.

Fairyliz · 28/11/2018 12:17

Yes perhaps when we are out of Europe we can get rid of these ridiculous human rights policies and apply a bit of common sense.

Jaxhog · 28/11/2018 12:22

Don't hold your breath. This sort of thinking is endemic in social services unfortunately.

GrabEmByThePatriarchy · 28/11/2018 12:28

Why do you think leaving the EU would have an impact on our human rights law?

Orangecake123 · 28/11/2018 12:28

Yes give the rapist access to his child. To be honest it doesn't surprise me now, after I read the recent case of the little girl whose parents walked free after abusing her an causing her death.

TheQueef · 28/11/2018 12:29

You would imagine, with the sheer scale of the problem in the small town of Rotherham, that the abuse and grooming have been stopped.
Its still happening.
I'm certain it is because I have seen it several times.
Reporting to social services is pointless, can't do anything without details of the girls.
I've reported to one school (uniform iD school) who thanked me but couldn't act.
The police do attend occasionally and move them on. Reporting to 101 gets a car around 3/5 times.

The existing victims aren't being served at all. The number will keep growing.

DanglyBangly · 28/11/2018 12:31

There must be some backstory or something we don’t know about. Because on the face of it, it’s just so outrageous.

surferjet · 28/11/2018 12:32

Not surprised at all. Sadly.

mothertruck3r · 28/11/2018 12:34

I wonder if she can sue the council for distress/presumably her human rights to a safe and quiet life have been denied.

I think it's in all towns (it is in mine)
I think the scale of it and how endemic it is would shock people if they knew

mothertruck3r · 28/11/2018 12:43

I think nothing is shocking anymore. We seem to have ventured into some twilight zone where war is peace etc.

Such a tragedy for both mother and her troubled son who was subject to care proceedings when this happened. Unsurprisingly he does have issues which made it very difficult for his traumatised mother to cope.

So Rotherham council decide in their wisdom to offer that support by way of introducing the possibility of a convicted child rapist to meet the needs of this complex child.

Beggars belief. Sad

crochetmonkey74 · 28/11/2018 12:46

mothertruck3r

actually, you are completely right. It's so depressing
