Virgin Media

I have Virgin Media Broadband which I am thinking of ditching. I have had no end of issues with the Broadband not working. Either there is a fault in my area or there is a fault with the signaling going to my router. Tonight was the absolute last straw. I had no internet last night so I called them and they could not get it back on and I kept trying to reboot the router and my laptop. Then someone at Virgin Media said he could tell that the cabling inside my property was faulty so it could not be fixed remotely and they booked an engineer. He managed to get me back online but said it would only be temporary. I was online for a good few hours last night and so as I sometimes work at home and need internet broadband then I thought it would be ok. Tonight however my broadband was not working so I phoned them again and said I have to work at home and need to be on. They could not get me on so someone else (not virgin media) told me to try something else and I got on. After 30 minutes it failed again so I phoned virgin media and someone said oh I know what your issue is and said there was a dodgy signal set up so he put me on a different signal set and said "I guaratee you will not lose your connection again" I said why has it taken 4 hours for someone to realise what the issue is and why did someone tell me i had faulty cables in my property and book an engineer. He said I do not know but I can see you do not have faulty cables. I have just about had it with Virgin Media.

Can anyone recommend what is a good reliable internet that does not cost too much. My landline is virgin media so I dont know if I can keep my landline phone and just change my broadband to someone else. I have literally come to the end of my tether

thanks

Go on the Virgin user forum and have a good moan with as much detail as possible. They sometimes tend to pick problems up better once they are in public. There are people at Virgin who know what they are talking about, but it can be hard to find them.
