Just asking, if you had a budget of £3k per person for a holiday, where would you go and what would you do? What would you expect to do/get for that sort of money?

DH, our two children and I are going to the Maldives in Jan for two weeks..own villa with own pool five star..everything all together has come to 11..which is a good price..could of got cheaper flights in that if we would of had stop overs, but won't do that with our small children xx

Luxury, long haul

ladybirdsaredotty · 27/11/2018 22:50

If we had that to spend on a holiday I'd feel rich! That would be more than I earn in a year (there are 5 of us and I'm a part time support worker). I can't really imagine it but I'd probably take the children to see NZ (me and DP went there when we actually had a bit of disposable income pre-kids!). I'd expect a lot for that money to make up for not being able to pay my rent!

This is about our usual spend for our bi-annual luxury cruise where we completely switch off from the world and expect to be treated like royalty. I’d expect 5* service, direct or at a push 1 short stop flights and two weeks in the Caribbean / Pacific Islands etc with everything taken care of.

DH is a freelance web consultant so our two weeks of planned out to military prescision annual leave from the business every other year are taken extremely seriously! All other holidays must have good quality internet connection for working which usually results in suboptimal relaxation or an early return home Sad

Would love to go to St Petersburg. Probably not 3k so would add to spending money or put towards another holiday somewhere in Europe.

Luxury cruise, trip to Australia and New Zealand, train journey across Canada, seeing an eclipse somewhere special

puzzledlady · 27/11/2018 23:31

I loved Cuba. Loved it. And Cape Verde and Morocco I'd love to do Bali next but we've already got two holidays planned for next year!!!

Anyat212 · 28/11/2018 02:36

I’d probably travel to a few places, depends on your time frames though. I highly recommend Iceland & Thailand polar opposites but such beautiful countries.

On my bucket list is the Maldives, Hawaii or New Zealand

A few months in gold accommodation at butlins, Skegness.

Loads of good suggestions!

I'm not planning on spending £3k each, but would love lots of the above suggestions. I recently got a quote for a fly drive to Eastern Canada, 6 people, 2 weeks, economy plane seats. It was over £18k! I was surprised, not in a good way.
