What is going to happen to my lodger after March 2019?

She is from an EU country and is going to be lodging from me from January / February of next year.

What will happen with Brexit - will she have to get papers etc ?

Nobody knows. As the mantra goes “nothing is agreed until it all is agreed” and the deal looks a long way off being agreed by Parliament. We’ll know more in a few weeks but it is likely that there will be a transitional period for a couple of years.

Your lodger should be fine; rights of EU citizens living in the U.K. are assured as long as they arrive before the end of the transition period
