To wonder if it's possible to lose a stone by Christmas?!

Ok so I know it's probably not advisable and that a 'healthy' weight loss is 2lbs a week but I am very heavy at the moment (14st 2 and a size 18) and would love to feel a bit better about myself and to drop a dress size by Christmas.

Has anyone managed to lose a stone in a month? If so, how?

Thank you!

Probably not sustainably. Why not start a life style change and go for the long haul

Thanks CottonSock, I have lost a stone since October but used to be 10 stone and a 10/12 so would love to get back to that by next Christmas.

Well it's possible, but it wouldn't be sustainable. Plus it will be difficult over Christmas.

I hate to be a diet bore but why not just start eating better and exercising and go in for the long haul?

You can lose a stone in 4 weeks on a meal
replacement diet such as slim and save.
I am on a VLCD now it's hard going but possible.

Do a very low calorie diet like Lighter Life or Exante.

It isn’t meant to be sustainable as you do it for a limited amount of time. As long as you don’t eat too many calories afterwards you won’t regain the weight.

When you have lost a stone, work out your BMR (google it) and and eat within that.

Good luck!

Yes l lost a stone in 4 weeks, 2 years ago on the Louise Parker fit for life plan..book on Amazon.......and no, its not a shakes or starvation diet, it is however ruthlessly strict on fresh unprocessed food, no alcohol, sugar and you need to cook (easy)meals daily......it take planning l used to shop for 4 days worth of food and had to cook mine independantly of dcs but not a big issue...

Don't expect to eat out or cheat, it really works though! I was 2 stone lighter than you when l started, but am a small build, and short, so still 2 stone overweight, l didn't exercise as much as it recommends but it really did work and l go back to it whenever my weight begins to creep up .......when l relax my eating habits.....If l have tried to modify the meals or replace things l find weight creeps back on so be prepared to meal plan meticulously.....good luck op.

You could on Slimming World. I lost 6lbs in my first week then 2-3lb a week after that and it doesn't involve meal replacements or any out of the ordinary foods. It's based around cooking from scratch, filling up on 'free' foods (mainly fruits, vegetables, pasta, and lean protein) which are in theory unlimited but are quite filling so you naturally limit yourself, a daily measured amount of certain types of dairy/milk and a daily measured amount of bread/cereal/nuts, etc. You also get 10-15 "syns" which is a shit name for them but is basically foods not covered elsewhere in the plan and for treats like wine or chocolate. I steer clear of Frankenstein foods like pease pudding pastry or Fry Light and use my syns on things like flour and proper oil.

Or do the blood sugar diet for 4 weeks.

You don't have to count calories to lose weight, it's genuinely what you eat that counts.

I recommend Paleo- its sustainable as a lifestyle choice, incredibly healthy, will give you more energy etc etc

It can be hard to stick to but if you have the willpower then go for it.

You can basically eat proper meat, chicken, all seafood, eggs, fruit and veg, nuts and seeds, healthy oils such as olive, avocado or coconut.

You can't eat anything processed, dairy, wheat, bread, rice, potatoes, pasta and no legumes or beans, so no peanuts.

Have a google.

Oneandoneontheway · 27/11/2018 18:09

Intermittent fasting. You don't eat between 8pm and 1pm, or 12pm if that's a little easier. So you only have an 8 hour eating window a day. It's got lots of good reviews and beneficial in all kinds of way. Have a Google, I'm finding it a breeze!

slithytove · 27/11/2018 18:18

Yes prob. Drink shitloads of water.
Won’t be fun though and if you eat normally over Christmas will prob put a lot back on

I have lost 11 pounds in 2 weeks on the 8 week blood sugar diet. But I am bigger than you by 1.5 stone. I lost 7 pounds the first week and 4 the second. So I am on target to loose 1stone in four weeks. I have been meticulous with my 800 calorie allowance. But I have been planning my meals and cooking recipes from the book and the 5:2 recipe book. I have not cheated once, its tough but it can be done.

Good luck OP.
