Smug bastard parking war thread

We live in flats with resident only parking paid for as part of our rent, signs are up clearly stating this.

We live near a school and the parents are a nightmare. The school was built after the houses before anyone says not to buy near a school.
We are often late for work as we can't get out of our spaces for parents blocking the car park entrance and when coming home from work we can't get in our own spaces including disabled residents.
School and Psco have been involved because of the abuse we face.

A particular parent from the local school is horrendous though. We have nicely spoken to him and explained that it is only residents car park and he says he didn't know and then parks there at night again, he parks up to people's front windows in their carpark space and refuses to move. His friend was blocked in by a resident and he threatened them that they better move.
His latest game is to pull up to windows park blasting his radio. He thinks it's funny.

Due to the set out of the carpark and the fact that one of the buildings is a local businesses which has two spaces for staff use only so we can't bollard it. We could put individual bollards in but that wouldn't stop the cheeky fucker parking in the business space as the business is currently empty so no one to enforce and blasting music. Many of us have babies and work nights so he is waking people up , he's stopped disabled residents from being able to park and he doesn't care.

Just block him in. Club together to do it. Then go out

Underpressureidiot · 27/11/2018 15:37

Sounds like he needs an ASBO. I don’t know how to get one but he seems like a prime candidate, the twat

44PumpLane · 27/11/2018 15:38

Keep a record of it as it sounds like antisocial behaviour and report via the pcso.

AnguaUberwaldIronfoundersson · 27/11/2018 15:38

Block him in. Then go out. It is the only way.

RiverTam · 27/11/2018 15:40

obviously we need a diagram, YABVU to start a parking thread without one.

However - I would keep on at the school and possibly notify the police? Is the car park private or public land - can the landlord/land owner get involved.

What an utter knobber. Pity his poor kids, growing up with this bellend for a dad.

hellsbellsmelons · 27/11/2018 15:41

Sorry, and I'm not one to resort to this kind of thing lightly, but he's be having the air taken out of all his tyres.
Unless you can co-ordinate a group 'block-in'
Or could you give his number plate to the school and ask them to intervene?

When I lived opposite a school, they used to have someone stand in our car park and ensure that no-one used it for school parking.
Morning and evening!
When there was an event or parent evening.
Your school should be doing something similar.

BunsOfAnarchy · 27/11/2018 15:45

I cant even articulate an answer without being horrified you havent included an obligatory drawing Grin

He sounds like a complete twat. He needs an ASBO. Next time he does the window thing, record it and give to PCSO.

And then slash his tyres and key his car block him in

Damia · 27/11/2018 15:48

Who enforces parking? Can't they ticket him?

Biancadelriosback · 27/11/2018 15:51

Record every time he is there. And I agree, band together and block him in.

Carwars · 27/11/2018 15:51

School have said they can't do anything.
They do write letters but no one listens. School have use of two carparks to use for parents but it's further for the little darlings legs to walk obviously Hmm

Will try and do a diagram.

Can the residents not block the car park themselves? You could also look at a private parking company (some allow you to self ticket) but that may not work for your situation. Bollards may be a way forward or a barrier with intercom. Complain to the council and school, my parents home (same as you school came after) had awful problems to the point idiots were parking three abreast at the top of the road cutting off around 120 houses. The council were more than happy to oblige with PCNs and it stopped.

InvisibleLlama · 27/11/2018 15:52

Penguin bollards

MrsTommyBanks · 27/11/2018 15:56

Video him parking and youtube/Facebook it.
Nasty arrogant wanker.

captainpantbeard · 27/11/2018 16:04

Definitely contact PCSOs again - see if they can have a quiet word with him. Video him, document everything and send them it!

They've been pretty good about monitoring parking around our school. I'm not a resident and I don't think it affects the residents as such as no driveways it's just the state of the parking - sticking out into roads, across corners and pavements etc, it's so dangerous. WHEN THERE'S LOADS OF FREE SPACE 30 METRES AWAY DOWN ANOTHER STREET (sorry....and breathe)

RosieStarr · 27/11/2018 16:06

Can you block the entrance yourselves? Eg by parking there with hazards on?

The council are your best option, if not you can get a private company but they can be very aggressive and may end up causing yourselves more problems in the long run.

Carwars · 27/11/2018 16:11

Yes we also have the double parking , parking across bends and on yellow lines putting the children at the actual school in danger on the road next to our carpark.

The carpark is private land so PSCO won't do anything about it and the landlord is not really fussed.

bringbackthestripes · 27/11/2018 16:11

Is there not a building management company that could get involved? apart from the entitled tw@t being rude and annoying he is getting to park for free whilst you have to pay. Maybe demand a reduction in parking costs on that basis and see if the building owners/managers can sort him out.

onlyk · 27/11/2018 16:12

Report the behaviour to the police each time (via the non emergency line). The blasting the radio is nuisance behaviour and parking in residence only parking is trespass, if this was a one off then the police would do nothing however as the number of incidents build up they’ll initially have a chat, then a warning and if he keeps it up he could end up in court. Afraid it’s not an instant fix but as he seems determined to keep being a pest it’s probably the best route to go.

Seeline · 27/11/2018 16:16

Can you get a barrier put across the entrance to your development?

FunshineCareBear · 27/11/2018 16:17

I wonder if you can wheel clamp him?

Jux · 27/11/2018 16:19

This used to happen at dd's primary. Eventually there were so many complaints that the local Community Cop came along every single morning and afternoon to oversee it all and prevent people pparking dangerously and taking residents' spaces etc.

Allthewaves · 27/11/2018 16:21

I'd bollard all the spaces even the business ones

Wrybread · 27/11/2018 16:22

I've heard of people wrapping cars in clingfilm because it's not technically vandalism but takes ages to get off. Not suggesting you do that, mind. But I've heard of it Wink

Allaboutmeandyou · 27/11/2018 16:24

.

bitchwitch · 27/11/2018 16:27

here we just report them as abandonded cars
or call for a tow>illegally parked car
or report for noise (laws against it here-will get you a minimum 100$ fine)
.
