To ask for speedy help to choose a silvery white Dulux paint?

I wanted to paint several rooms using Homebase Moonlight, which is white with a hint of silver, but my decorator has arrived today and turned his nose up at using "retail" standard paint. He wants me to choose something in "trade" standard - by which I think he means Dulux, Crown etc. He is particularly recommending Dulux, and there's one of their decorator centres nearby so I'm focusing on that. I'm going to ask them to colour match the Homebase Moonlight. However, presumably colour-matching will hike the price up (yes?) so I wonder if there's an off-the-shelf silvery white that's similar. I've been staring at colour cards but can barely tell the difference between many of the colours and know they often look a lot different once you get them up - the Moonlight certainly does. I need to make a decision in the next few hours though!

We used white mist. It's dulux and is a very pale grey white. I love it in my living room!

We used homebase paint in our old house, it was better than Dulux for coverage etc. We've used valspar this time and nearly all custom mix, it was lovely to paint with though.

Thanks, White Mist is a front runner. Any other suggestions out there?

Tell him it's your house and your choice don't stress about getting another similar when you have one you like or tell him to go and hel loose your work. Cheeky bugger

just tell him to use the paint you’ve got or you’ll find someone else who will.

I used Homebase Moonlight in my bedroom. It is lovely, and good to use. I think he is just being snobbish!

Answering my own question here, in case anyone else needs to know which Dulux paint is the closest match to Homebase Moonlight. I took a 2-coat sample to Dulux Decorator centre and it's come up as an 'excellent match' with Chiffon white number 3.

Dulux White mist. Had it in ensuite. Very nice, with hint of grey.
