It’s going to be a scientist isn’t it?

Racecardriver · 26/11/2018 19:30

But I thought they were going to put a scientist on it?

malmi · 26/11/2018 19:31

We already have a £50 note

BlossomCat · 26/11/2018 19:32

She was a scientist, she was involved in the team that invented soft scoop ice cream.
Still don't want her on fifty pound notes, though.

Nettletheelf · 26/11/2018 19:32

She was a scientist before she was a politician. She was involved in developing Mr Whippy ice cream, allegedly!

I’d let her be on a £50 note. Whatever you think of her politics, she certainly blazed a trail.

Nettletheelf · 26/11/2018 19:33

Haha, x post with Blossom!

RomanyRoots · 26/11/2018 19:35

Don't we have one already, they're a bugger to get rid of. a customer used to pay my dd with them.

JaiNotJay · 26/11/2018 19:37

Why not, it doesn't make any difference to me who they put on the £50 note, I'm never going to see them! Wink

CaveMum · 26/11/2018 19:45

She’s entitled to be on the long-list due to her pre-political work but is unlikely to make the short-list when they start to tighten the criteria.

Favourites are Stephen Hawking, Ada Lovelace, Alan Turing and Roslind Franklin who had her work used by Watson, Crick and Wilkins and never given her due credit when they won the Nobel Prize for discovering the DNA double helix Angry
