Posting for traffic - taking DH for birthday treat to an event at AR Studios, staying at Marriott Maida Vale. Please can anyone recommend anywhere good to eat within walking distance, not too expensive but decent food? Appreciate your help, want it to be a great night for DH.

Raoul’s, amazing!

Raoul’s is nice but seriously overpriced, IMO.
What sort of food do you like? There’s masses of choice round there.

If you like sushi, this is lovely:

Or the Korean barbecue at Gogi is great, and it feels quite glamorous;

The Ivy Cafe in St John's Wood is nice.

We normally go to The Ivy Cafe in St John's Wood. Le Cochennet is okay for pizza although the service is very hit and miss. There's a new pub called The Hero of Maida which is supposed to be v good although we haven't been.

DH doesn't eat fish, loves good pizza, Indian and hearty-type food.

I haven’t been for ages, but Red Pepper on Formosa Street used to be very good for pizza.
