What's on your plate on this fine sunday evening? I have lamb potatoes a Yorkshire broccoli and Brussels sprouts covered in gravy 😍

(We are getting a new table delivered that's why I'm eating off this one from the sofa 😂)

Love this thread!

We had roast chicken, fennel baked in cream with an orange and pine nut crust and a fennel seed pilaf. Gorgeous.

ILikeyourHairyHands · 25/11/2018 20:57

Followed by creme brulle.

Roast lamb with black currant and garlic jus
Butternut squash
Broccoli
Mange tout
Red cabbage
I also had a lovely margarita whilst cooking it and am now settled on sofa with cat MN and a Bacardi

CheshireChat · 25/11/2018 21:07

Gammon cooked in coke, glazed with Bavarian mustard and maple syrup with crispy potatoes, Yorkshire puddings, spiced red cabbage and apple and green bean and raw carrot salad with garlic aioli dressing.

And baked camembert as a starter with chopped cranberries and mixed nuts to sprinkle. With garlic bread.

And profiteroles for dessert.

I'm starving [santa]

Chicken en croute, triple cooked chips and peas

MaMaMaMySharona · 25/11/2018 21:28

We made a roast for dinner! Roast potatoes, carrots, sprouts and parsnips, swede mash, leeks in white sauce, stuffing balls, lashings of gravy! I have extra vegetable servings with mine as I don’t eat meat but DP had pigs in blankets and roast chicken!

ILikeyourHairyHands · 25/11/2018 21:29

I want photos!

@Aquamarine1029

Stew, not strew (don't know where that came from!) I don’t really follow a recipe now as it’s adapted from one I got of the internet years ago. The flavour is a slightly sweet, satay style curry that isn't too hot. It’s roughly this,

1 can chopped tomatoes
1 can coconut milk
3 sweet potatoes (large chunks)
2 carrots (diced)
1 onion (finely chopped)
¼ cup smooth peanut butter
1 can butterbeans or chickpeas
Medium curry powder to taste
Sriracha sauce to taste

Saute the onion, add the canned tomato & coconut milk, then peanut butter, sweet potato & carrots, stir well, add curry powder to taste and a little sriracha for heat. I eyeball and taste as I go along. Put the lid on and let it simmer about 20 minutes until carrots are cooked but the sweet potato shouldn't be mushy. Serve with rice or bulgar wheat. I wish I had the original recipe on my computer but it's been so long it must have been on an older device.

n0ne · 25/11/2018 21:50

It was homemade fish pie (cod, salmon and king prawns) with cauliflower. Rather beige-looking meal but bloomin tasty Grin

ILikeyourHairyHands · 25/11/2018 22:00

And a perfect espresso martini to finish.

@yellowsparkles that’s the number of chips I should eat. Instead I eat x6 as much!

TheyBuiltThePyramids · 25/11/2018 22:19

Beef stew with dumplings which was lush. Though dd wont eat anything in sauce so had chicken breast with peas.

Ragwort · 25/11/2018 22:27

Waitrose curry meal Blush, really delicious & no prep involved Grin.

Notso · 25/11/2018 22:35

KFC. I haven't eaten one for about 16 years and won't be rushing back, it was horrible.
