Bold fail above ^^. The first paragraph is a quote.

InsomniacAnonymous · 25/11/2018 17:52

Sorry OP. Did you say you will give her money, with which she can pay you back? What's the point of that? Confused That leaves you back at square one!

PattiStanger · 25/11/2018 18:55

Unless I'm totally misunderstanding this will pay the OP back, the DD has £50 less pocket money that she would have done so the OP gets her money back by not hvaing to pay the pocket money

Tartsamazeballs · 25/11/2018 19:07

Buy the same one from boots for £22.50 and return it to Amazon to get £25 back at least.

BanjoStarz · 25/11/2018 19:17

Looking at the grammar and punctuation on that amazon ad I wouldn’t be surprised if that wasn’t a fake tbh- which may be another way of getting your money back as they shouldn’t be selling counterfeit goods.

InsomniacAnonymous · 25/11/2018 20:57

BanjoStarz Did you mean to say that you wouldn't be surprised if that was a fake? If it wasn't a fake it would be genuine.

BanjoStarz · 25/11/2018 21:23

Yes, sorry, was having a moment!

I’d be surprised if it was genuine, the description reads so badly.

SabineUndine · 25/11/2018 21:34

I would be wanting to know what gave her the idea of doing this. Has she got any new friends who might have been influencing her?

I'm not kidding, I would have had the police round to talk to her, because this is fraud, surely?

PattiStanger · 25/11/2018 21:36

That seller does look very dodgy, might be worth reporting it as a fake to see if you can get a refund

PerfectlyGoodAtBeingBad · 25/11/2018 21:42

Is she into makeup or has this become a thing all of a sudden? Because that mixed with the new attitude changes might mean something else is going on.

SpitefulMidLifeAnimal · 25/11/2018 21:44

I reckon the make up set is genuine. Someone's gone and bought a few of these from Boots and hiked the price up on Amazon.

Allthewaves · 25/11/2018 21:47

Washing dishes for her aunt sounds like a perfect consequence

woodwaj · 25/11/2018 21:59

She will have known it was on offer at boots...but your card wasn't linked to boots so she bought it where she could. I'd have prob stomped on her phone in a rage that'll cost her about the same price to fix. But iabu!!

Alfie190 · 25/11/2018 22:06

Take it off her and reclaim the £50.

StellaWouldYouTakeMeHome · 25/11/2018 22:07

Has she maybe tried to buy you a present or is she already using it

TheChickenOfTruth · 25/11/2018 22:25

Nothing at all for Christmas. Not even the makeup set. Nothing.

Sitting there with nothing when everyone else is having a great time opening presents will make her realise what an ungrateful and selfish little shit she is.

MadeForThis · 25/11/2018 22:45

I would give it to her for Christmas and nothing else.

Tell her that if she wanted it enough to steal from you then it is obviously an important enough present to be her whole Christmas gift.

And nothing else. Not even a selection box.

everywhichwaybutt · 25/11/2018 22:55

You’re being very nonchalant about this. Tbh it’s no surprise she’s turned out the way she has

Monday55 · 26/11/2018 09:14

wow! what she did is stealing. I hope you've made that clear to her, because she might not see it from that perspective if she was not willing to pay the money back. she's behaving like a brat.

InfiniteSheldon · 26/11/2018 09:21

Ummmm dodgy advert and dodgy link to match I smell odour de dodgy can I buy that via the link?

SoupDragon · 26/11/2018 10:39

What dodgy link?

TenForward82 · 26/11/2018 11:41

You seem very wishy-washy about this, OP.

I'd be worried about bullying or abuse - posh make up to make herself look older / sophisticated. I'd be trying to tackle that, and the attitude, and making her do chores to pay the money back.

CuriousaboutSamphire · 26/11/2018 11:43

Oh yes! How many sets of that make up set are left in that link? Could be a great sales pitch...erm? Nope!

TheWiseWomansFear · 26/11/2018 11:50

So you're going to either get her a job, or give her more money to pay you with? Hmm plus, she's only doing it because of your DH - she has 0 respect for you.

Agree with pps - is have had no phone for a month or all of my makeup taken away from me.

Does she have bad self esteem? Only reason it would be OK (kind of) is if she was being bullied or thought she was ugly and thought the make up would help.
