To think the doctor just can't leave me like this?

I'm suffering from Pvcs and PACs (premature beats) I've had a Holter Monitor but the time I got that it was a good day.
Now I'm having thousands of these a day.
Sometimes every few beats.
I feel my heart pause then a massive thud.
I've had no sleep last night as they were happening every few minutes.
The doctor says they are benign and won't kill me.
I can't live this way.
Today I'm exhausted and the beats are happening all the time.
The doctor gave me beta blockers but I'm sure that's caused more extra beats.
The doctor won't do nothing else.
I don't know what to do now.
My life is not worth living with these.

Hey, i have these and have suffered for years, various different tests and meds with no difference. It was terrifying, horrible and quite frankly uncomfortable.
It has recently (following admission to a&e) been suggested its actually a phsysiological reaction to anxiety. And when i was told that i was first, incredibly sceptical as i didnt feel i was suffering with anxiety, but after some counselling i definitely believe thats the trigger. Sometimes the beats happen before i even realise im anxious and i have to sit and go through things in my mind to identify and deal with whatever is causing me anxiety.
Ive also noticed, when im exhausted, starving or dehydrated i get them more. And definitely notice the most when sitting watching tv or trying to go to sleep. I suggest try drinking plenty, and using meditation/focusing on your breathing to calm them. Its made a massive difference to me by doing those two things, and im now on no meds and have little symptoms!

Hope you feel better soon x

If this is making you feel unwell please call for an ambulance, maybe there is something they can do to help you.

beerandwine · 25/11/2018 14:25

I've been to the hospital so many times and get told
"Benign Pvcs"
Stress anxiety related
Send me straight home
So frustrating

They started in 2012 then disappeared.
When I'm really stressed I notice they rear ugly head.
I do have an anxiety disorder too.

Do you have health anxiety beerandwine? Have you had tests and referrals for various concerns?

This is quite familiar.

Munchyseeds · 25/11/2018 14:35

What do you think the doctor should do?

itsbetterwithoutyou · 25/11/2018 14:44

Are you receiving any treatment for your anxiety?

Aridane · 25/11/2018 14:49

Focus on the anxiety ??

swingofthings · 25/11/2018 14:58

Assuming they've done a. Ultrasound and all other stsndard tests and all came normal, then anxiety is likely to be the cause. Even here on this thread you come across as anxious. Anxiety brin on a lot of symptoms and affect on heart is well known.

Go back to your GP to discuss how to manage your anxiety and hopefully the beats will regulate themselves. If not all standard tests have been done ask for them.

beerandwine · 25/11/2018 15:09

I've just had heart related tests as that's the only thing I'm worried about.
When I say anxiety it's not really bad just worry a lot about things and obsess over my heart etc

OP posts:
beerandwine · 25/11/2018 15:10

I wish he would try and find the cause.
It's like because they aren't life threatening he's not bothered.
There's got to be a reason.
Last night I was perfectly calm watching tv and they started and went on for hours

OP posts:
beerandwine · 25/11/2018 15:11

I've had 3 heart ultrasounds and 2 Holter monitors plus 10 ecg and blood work done 3 times

OP posts:
beerandwine · 25/11/2018 15:16

Just the beta blockers as treatment

OP posts:
lljkk · 25/11/2018 15:17

They can't fix you heart situation, OP. I'm know that's hard to hear.

YOU might be able to find someone to help with your anxiety, though. Serenity Prayer time, methinks.

Luglio · 25/11/2018 15:19

I wish he would try and find the cause.

But he has found the cause Confused

That's why you're on betablockers

beerandwine · 25/11/2018 15:21

He hasn't found the cause...
All he knows is my heart is structurally normal which doesn't help me at all.
Thousands of extra beats are happening daily and he can't pin point why exactly.
Just that certain cells are getting excited and generating premature beats.
I hate them so much ..they've ruined me.

OP posts:
beerandwine · 25/11/2018 15:21

Someone has to be able to help me surely :-(
I'm so down.
This just isn't living.

OP posts:
beerandwine · 25/11/2018 15:23

I've had a hour with none but I know they will be back again soon.
Tonight they will begin and I won't sleep then tomorrow I will be exhausted and il get more beats.

lljkk · 25/11/2018 15:27

I get that it sucks, OP, but you got around the supermarket today, and some people would find that plenty impossible with their health challenges. It sounds like you manage quite a lot of other things in spite of this. It sounds like you DO know how to live with the heart condition, but it's the anxiety that's actually intolerable.

beerandwine the cause has been identified as anxiety. You said so yourself!

What you need treated is your anxiety not your heart! Heart issue is a symptom of anxiety. It couldn't be clearer - you've said it yourself but then bafflingly claimed not to know!

lljkk · 25/11/2018 15:31

Oh poo, I mis-spoke for which I apologise. Was a different thread someone mentioned getting around supermarket today not this OP.
I will be quiet now. Blush

beerandwine · 25/11/2018 15:31

It's the not sleeping with it that makes me upset.
I just think why me all of the time.
My doctor won't send me back to the cardio as he said they can't do nothing else but offer b/b

OP posts:
beerandwine · 25/11/2018 15:32

I do get it most days.
Yesterday wasn't as bad till the nighttime.
I managed to go shopping but then all hell broke out.
