New phone just called 999 by accident!!

Was driving and my phone slipped down the side, tried to retrieve it at a red light and accidentally pressed the side button three times which I didn’t realise calls 999?!?!

Only realised when a women stared asking me if I needed fire ambulance or police. It was going through my car speaker and i was saying sorry this was a mistake I don’t need an emergency survice but she couldn’t hear me so I just hung up to free the line.

I feel AWFUL :( what do I do now? Leave it or call back? I just don’t want them to turn up or waste any time!!

You can disable it by going to Settings > Emergency Call > Auto Call

Okay I’ll disable it now thanks. Feel awful I don’t want them to think I’m in trouble and track my phone or something?

They may call you back just to check you are safe so do answer if an unknown caller comes up.

My daughter rang 999 when she was 2 nd didn't tell me, just hung up. They phoned back to make sure it was a false call.
