...if you want to mortally offend whoever you're giving to!

AIBU or was this ad seriously misguided?

havent seen it.... link?

LEMtheoriginal · 24/11/2018 20:46

Those ads made me cringe before and now the Christmas one? Fuck. Off!

Hippopotas · 24/11/2018 20:47

That add is ridiculous. I just look at DH and said do not get me that for Christmas!

Bonkerz · 24/11/2018 20:52

I got two bottles for my birthday! I wasn't offended

BorisAndDoris · 24/11/2018 21:06

It's not a gift kind of thing but oh how I love that stuff! My 11yo DD comes home from school every single day and completely stinks the bathroom out. DH is worse.

MissionItsPossible · 25/11/2018 10:54

I saw that and thought if anyone got me a fucking vipoo thing for Christmas I’d be fuming!

Mammyloveswine · 25/11/2018 10:55

Hahaha I was howling at that advert!

PositivelyPERF · 25/11/2018 10:57

If you’re ‘fuming’, you probably need it. 🤣

LEMtheoriginal · 25/11/2018 19:14

Somebody bought some into work as she had an upset tummy. Somebody mistook it for air freshener - that stuff lingers!! Not good.

The annoying thing is that people will buy it for secret santa now. I don't know whether to be impressed or disgusted by the marketing!

I would be seriously unimpressed!

BudgieBalls · 25/11/2018 21:56

My partner got me some for my birthday (as a joke). I think it's brilliant because I just leave it for him to use so I don't have to smell his shit 👍

I'm impressed. It's very clever Grinpeople will buy it for secret santa and that is a big sales boost.

AndhowcouldIeverrefuse · 25/11/2018 22:01

Bonkerz Grin

I need to watch that advert now. This is the second VIPoo thread today... nice product exposure I guess.

Pimpernell · 25/11/2018 22:06

I'm intrigued by this product and wouldn't be at all offended to receive it as a Secret Santa present (although I'd prefer a bottle of Aesop's Poo Drops. Only £20.00). Anywhere I've worked that did the Secret Santa thing many of the presents were meant to be jokey anyway. Perhaps certain people would be offended but I would find their outrage entertaining to witness anyway!

PattiStanger · 25/11/2018 22:10

This is the 2nd thread about this product I've read in the past day, are the marketing department starting them?

IthinkIsawahairbrushbackthere · 25/11/2018 23:54

We saw the add and I am very much afraid my husband is planning on getting some for our family White Elephant gift exchange.

LEDadjacent · 26/11/2018 20:39

Not the marketing department, I promise. Just a bemused viewer.

You could give it with a recording of 'Roses' by Outkast:

'I know you'd like to think your shit don't stink
But lean a little bit closer
See that roses really smell like poo-poo-oo
Yeah, roses really smell like poo-poo-oo' Grin

AiryFairyUnicornRainbow · 26/11/2018 20:47

I saw the advert ive been laughing on and off since I saw it lol

Picnictime · 26/11/2018 20:49

Brilliant gift idea for the right person at a secret santa, e.g. someone who can take a joke!

Thesmallthings · 26/11/2018 20:50

My boss would actually love this

CoughLaughFart · 26/11/2018 20:56

I think it’s a bizarre advert and I wouldn’t buy it as a Secret Santa present in a million years.

Well, unless I got someone I really hated.

randomchap · 26/11/2018 21:11

Great idea, one of the chaps in our office stinks the place out. I'll swap to get him in secret santa and buy it. I don't care if I offend him
