ProfessorMoody - no need to be rude!

I’m pretty relaxed about presents for my DC’s but they never had guns in any format due to what they signify to our family.

LettuceP · 24/11/2018 15:10

No idea about the gun but I can't believe the bitchy comments about a child's spelling Shock seriously how nasty can you get?

Munchmallow · 24/11/2018 15:14

He'll have his eye out!

(See reference to Christmas Story above - fab film Grin)

GaryBaldbiscuit · 24/11/2018 15:15

there are truly some very mean spirited posters around

Parker - I said don't be a dick. That's not rude. Guns aren't just for killing. To say that they are is a bit of a dickish comment.

llangennith · 24/11/2018 15:17

Do young kids really know what a pellet gun is?
Get him a small Nerf gun.

KC225 · 24/11/2018 15:22

Toys for a pound have spud guns (retro) and old fashioned cap guns online for a pound.

You don't say how old your son is - but look at Nerf. They have a great range, digital targeta and lazer options now. They should keep your son happy.

KittensAndCake · 24/11/2018 15:24

Sorry, Santa isn’t an arms dealer
🤣

Loved Tin Can Alley when I was a kid, think they still do it, albeit a less realistic version. How about something like that, OP?

LynetteScavo · 24/11/2018 15:52

My DS asked for a pellet gun the same year he asked for a hamster.

He didn't get either.

SilverySurfer · 24/11/2018 16:16

You are his parent, just say no. Tell him that the elves refuse to make them since one of them was accidentally shot by a pellet gun and lost his sight in one eye.

Ralphstar · 24/11/2018 17:02

Amazing - knew you wordsmiths would know how to reply from the big FC! I love the comment that 'Santa isn't an arms dealer' Grin
Had no idea people would be so upset by the spelling!

OP posts:
Ralphstar · 24/11/2018 17:03

Ha - just seen the comment about Santa not being able to fly with firearms in his luggage 😂😂

OP posts:
Madratlady · 24/11/2018 17:03

How about a nerf gun and a note from Santa about him being too young for a pellet gun?

needsahouseboy · 24/11/2018 17:10

I have no idea what your problem is with this. Just tell him he isn't allowed a gun FFS!

My DS has known from a very early age he will not get any gunshot looks like a gun, I had to relent on water pistols and I tell him why.

Seriously your the parent here, your more than capable of saying NO!

ShalomJackie · 24/11/2018 17:10

Come off it though - a child did not write that!

Baking101 · 24/11/2018 17:12

So, be a parent and say no? It's that simple. Not sure why you needed help.

Just because he asks doesn't mean he can have it.

Ralphstar · 24/11/2018 17:32

Feel I should make it clear that he was never going to get a pellet gun!

Basecamp65 · 24/11/2018 17:43

Simple rule in our house - Santa does not deal in live animals or weapons.

Parents and other relatives can but we all have absolutely no problem in saying no to the insistent requests for a pony.

Ralphstar · 24/11/2018 18:04

Ps thank you for really helpful alternative suggestions 🔫

brizzledrizzle · 24/11/2018 18:15

God there are some right misery guts on this thread. Children (and adults) don't spell words correctly and the child concerned has written a fun letter to the big red guy which is phonetically plausible.

OK he asked for a pellet gun, we've all asked for things which were inappropriate in our time.

OP, ignore the would be scrooges Grin

chickenloverwoman · 24/11/2018 19:26

Wow. Just no!
And yes a nerf gun might be a compromise, but I'd be worried about any gun ish stuff if this is the way the child thinks

ProfessorMoody · 24/11/2018 20:13

Why chicken?
