So she always has crackers or sandwich, fruit, yoghurt at midday ish
Then cooked meal in eve with us. Whatever we're eating. Gfenerally around 5.30pm./6pm. Bottle at 7.30 bed at 8.

Tomorrow we'd like to go and see some Xmas lights being switched on and it's rigtt on meal time. We would have to leave about 4.30..to get parked. ..no childcare for baby available

We are Having curry about 3.30 before we go and if kids hungry later they can have something when home (8pm ish,)

Baby can have curry with us at 3.30 but it's going to be so early for her compared to normal And she knows meal time is all of us. It's a small village where we're going and can't see any cafes being open to warm Anything.

What can I take that will be OK to eat in pushchair. That she can have at normal tea time.?
I get so worked up about this kinda stuff ( anxiety about routine with baby and in general) and make myself feel like I'm being shit that I end up staying in and dp taking the other 2 but they notice and want me to come.

Something cooked at lunch time and sandwiches for tea?

Or having sandwiches twice won't do them any harm once in a while.

Scotinoz · 23/11/2018 20:38

Just swap lunch and dinner around 😊

Sandwich, pancake, crackers, grated cheese, raisins, boiled egg, cold pasta, Cheerios, peas, grated carrot, strips of omelette, strips of ham, cold roast chicken...

At 8mths, milk is still the main thing so just give her a picnic to pick from and an extra big milk feed at home.

balalalala · 23/11/2018 20:39

Take a bit of a picnic for her to keep her amused. If you've got time to make some, pinwheels are great. Take some chopped up cheese, carrot sticks, cucumber or grapes. The squeezy collective yoghurts are good for on the go!

MaryShelley1818 · 23/11/2018 20:42

Yep as above really! I never go anywhere with DS without a picnic selection of snacks!
Cheese, cucumber, bread sticks, wafers, sandwich, croissant, fruit - obviously not all at once!

AdaColeman · 23/11/2018 20:48

Take some slices of cheese, something not crumbly, so edam not Caerphilly. And some buttered soft bread like Hovis maybe with peanut butter or hummus spread on it, and some banana perhaps.
Don't worry, she can have something when she gets home, you're not going to be out for long.

At 8 months, I’d just offer extra milk or a yogurt (Ella’s Kitchen do them in pouches if she’ll take it straight from the pouch). Or rice cakes/bread sticks. Just something to give her to snack on in addition to milk.

DinoDave · 23/11/2018 20:52

I’d take a few snack bits - par boiled carrot sticks, a bag of baby puff crisps, that kind of thing.

SoyDora · 23/11/2018 20:56

Breadsticks/rice cakes/chopped fruit or veg/lumps of cheese... if she’s had a proper meal at 3.30 she’s not going to be bothered if she only has snacks for tea.
At that age mine weren’t eating a regular 3 meals a day.

JustAskingForAFriend · 23/11/2018 21:06

Yeah I always take snacks anyway. Its hard due to egg allergy but I've just said to dp we can do cooked at lunch then picnic for her in eve. Olders well get a take away treat in eve..pizza maybe.

It's the whole 'being different to normal routine' that makes me anxious. I know she'll be fine. And definitely not be hungry. But it's my brain runs away with me.

Would she eat one of those Ella’s kitchen dinners at room temp? In these situations that’s what I bring - my DD eats the cheesy pasta, spag bol or sweet potato and chickpea cold ones cold! Just bring a spoon and squeeze straight from the pouch onto the spoon.

I understand what you mean btw OP - I too get worked up about these things and breaking from routine...it’s a hard age!

Nedzilla · 24/11/2018 07:59

i would just take something like a cream cheese sandwich and some banana
