I'm having a massive panic attack. Full-on chest pains, palpitations, hands shaking, diarrhoea, head pulsing, the lot.

Can someone just talk to me and distract me? I don't have anyone I can call on IRL and dh is at work. I know it's a panic attack and not something serious, I've had plenty before, but this is a bad one.

CBD oil is great for panic attacks and anxiety in general. I can't recommend it enough. Blue label CBD Brothers product. Three drops under the tongue. Five minutes later you feel the polar opposite.

This may not be of any actual use right now, but please get a bottle of Rescue Remedy. A few drops on the tongue can help, and I’m not normally an emotional wreck, but about a decade ago I underwent some huge trauma, (think the murder of a loved one or similar, honestly it was horrible) and Rescue Remedy on my tongue did help. It may be a physiological help, but it stopped the shakes, the tears and the immense pain that no amount of painkillers or sleeping tablets could help with.
please try it.

Thanks everyone Flowers they really are horrible. I used to use Rescue Remedy, I might see about getting some more. Haven't tried CBD oil, is it legal? And does it have a stoning effect?

Rescue remedy made me much worse so try it first while you're calm just in case. I actually hate seeing it so widely recommended.

Bless you OP Thanks

I was one of those people who thought panic attacks were just a mild 'panic' that over-worried people should just snap out of.....until I was with my friend who had a massive one. It scared the shit out of me and I wasn't even suffering!

Well done for getting through it. Hope they ease up on you soon xx

CBD oil doesn't stone you. It has 96% of the THC taken out. I have never used cannabis but felt driven to try CBD. It's good. It works quite fast and has made a huge difference to me. I am gradually coming out of my anxiety and depression and this has helped me get there in no small part I believe.

A stronger effect on your endocannabinoid receptors and no actual cannabis is copaiba essential oil. It has changed my daily experience dramatically - especially around my period.

Peppermint oil can help too. When my panic attacks were at their worst I kept peppermint boiled sweets on me or a few drops on a tissue.

systemwwr · 24/11/2018 06:20

Thesquashy does that one taste horrendous too? I got a much more absorbent water based one but the taste is just awful, there's no way I can keep it under my tongue for upto 3 mins as is recommended! I know under the tongue is better and quicker than capsules but the taste is really something.

systemwwr · 24/11/2018 06:20

*bioavailable rather than absorbent i suppose

Auldspinster · 26/11/2018 09:03

I had another horrendous one in the night, managed to keep the head and bring myself back down fairly quickly but pretty knackered now.
