To not go to A&E

I've lost several fingers and I'm pretty sure I've just snapped my spine.
My leg is turning black, my heart isn't beating, everything hurts.
My feet are turning in on themselves and my toes are at right angles.
Oh, and my heads just fallen off.

I should be okay though. I've just taken 2 paracetamol and there's something I really want to watch on the TV.
I'm sure I can hold my head for the duration until my programme is finished.

AIBU to not call 111?

@Terribletweens

Don't know what you're talking about.

Meh. Just a flesh wound. ‘‘Tis but a scratch.

YANBVU
Never go to A&E, not now, not headless, not legless, not EVER. Is that clear.?

Bits falling off and pain are NOT an emergency nor an accident
( probs), and I know this coz I've watched SEVERAL episodes of Holby AND
I had the ladybird book of Florence Nightingale when I was a kid.

Judashascomeintosomemoney · 23/11/2018 00:34

See? So unimportant, even my bold failed to highlight it.

GloGirl · 23/11/2018 00:34

I always caution advice on posts if there's a child is involved and the mother sounds a bit of a ditherer.

I once on Facebook got told that I was the problem with our badly funded NHS because she was RELATED to someone who works in hospitals and knew that people who were not really poorly should not go to A&E. The baby had breathing difficulties Hmm

Chocolatedeficitdisorder · 23/11/2018 00:34

Nurse here. How is your mental health doing? Do you struggle with depression, sleep or anxiety? I'm sure your Gp surgery might have some leaflets which could help. Given your current condition, maybe they'll post them to you - you can but ask.

WhoTookTheCookie · 23/11/2018 00:35

@Judashascomeintosomemoney excellent.

SimplySteve · 23/11/2018 00:38

A&E? With these meagre problems. You should go when you're dead, nobody dies on purpose so that'd make it an accident.

WhoTookTheCookie · 23/11/2018 00:40

@nakedscientist Who needs A&E!!

I'm sure there's a YouTube tutorial to teach me how to glue myself back together.

OP posts:
WhoTookTheCookie · 23/11/2018 00:43

@Chocolatedeficitdisorder mental health is okay I think.
I haven't slept in 3 years - but I think that's a common side effect of having a child.

I'll drag myself to the GP for some leaflets.
Wouldn't want them to waste any money on a postage stamp for little old me.

Could definitely demand some antibiotics while I'm there though, cure all!

WhoTookTheCookie · 23/11/2018 00:45

@SimplySteve ah but surely the definition ACCIDENT or EMERGENCY is subjective.

I wouldn't class dying as either so wouldn't waste any of my time or the doctors/nurses in a big, scary, uncomfortable hospital.
Chuck me straight in the ground.

BigChocFrenzy · 23/11/2018 00:53

You shameless wimp !

You are going to either get better on your own with Lemsip,
or you are terminally ill

Either way, you shouldn't waste valuable NHS resources

This younger generation has no moral fibre
< exits grumbling, pushing my own coffin >

CaptainCabinets · 23/11/2018 00:54

I thought you were made of stronger stuff!

I wouldn’t want to see you in my A&E department. Colds and sunburn only, please. And maybe Gruffalo bites.

halfwitpicker · 23/11/2018 01:08

Oh god tell me about it.

WhoTookTheCookie · 23/11/2018 01:10

@CaptainCabinets funny you should say that. I've just this second had a fit of hiccups.

Now I'm starting to worry.

OP posts:
WhoTookTheCookie · 23/11/2018 01:14

@BigChocFrenzy I'll have you know that I've earned my right to free medical care.
But I only choose to use it when absolutely necessary.
Chest pain? PAH NEVER
Breathlessness? OF COURSE NOT
Broken Limbs? WOULD I EVER
Head fallen off? YOU MUST BE JOKING

Hiccups? Well, it's now both an accident and emergency.
I didn't give myself hiccups purposely and I now can't drink my tea.
Therefore, an emergency.

OP posts:
CaptainCabinets · 23/11/2018 01:23

OH GOD NOT HICCUPS

Redglitter · 23/11/2018 01:36

I think the fact you're still able to post & therefore clearly not dead means YABU to even consider medical assistance

SimplySteve · 23/11/2018 02:42

You can't go out with hiccups ffs it's too cold. Maybe an ambo could bring surgeon, anaesthetist, nurses with you along with meds. While they are on their way you'd best clear the dining table as it'll be needed for the surgery.

SimplySteve · 23/11/2018 02:42

*to you

unicorncow · 23/11/2018 02:52

@WhoTookTheCookie wet paper towel and you'll be right as rain!

Lofari · 23/11/2018 03:33

We are all skirting round a very important issue here........how was the programme? Hope you held your poor decapitated head still to watch it OP

Esker · 23/11/2018 04:03

Have you tried seeking advice from a homeopath?

I had a burst appendix last year and a bit of echinacea sorted me right out.

Also, following 🙏 wellness 🙏 accounts in Instagram. The inspiration, or should I say wellspiration alone can cure what ails ya.

Spamfrittersforeveryone · 23/11/2018 07:38

Are you dead?

Okimstumped · 23/11/2018 07:50

Don’t worry OP you are made of tougher stuff, another 10 days worth at least 😁 maybe really mix it up and next medication time for some ibuprofen?! Don’t give in and call 111 whatever you do
