In tons of pain all the time due to endometriosis. Recently my ovaries have been so bad I’m having to miss days of work and just cry from the pain. Doctors want to do a scan but not for another month I’ve spent all day at work crying the pain is worse than anything and there’s nothing more I can take. I’ve had dreams all week of cutting my ovaries out Aibu to go.

Have you been back to your GP at all recently? Is there anyway they could chase up your scan and/or re-refer you to gynae explaining how severe your pain is and asking for an urgent appointment?

Jimmers · 25/11/2018 07:39

Yep agree with above poster... phone your consultant’s secretary. If the referral wasn’t made for the scan they can annotate the referral so the wait is backdated, so in theory you shouldn’t wait longer than if you’d been referred correctly.

Well the pain was coming and going plus’s I had to get dinner I guess my partner could of gone on his own but I thought the fresh air would help. Wasn’t until I got there it got worse. I found up my go Friday and he’s dealing with the scan. I’m also asking to go see the endometriosis clinic that I found out by chance 6 years of a shit gynaecologist and having to pay to go see a private one and there’s an nhs clinic near me

If OP was first diagnosed 10 yrs ago (or is it 6 yrs ago?) Why has she not been prescribed any of the hormone-related treatments, or offered surgery, even? Does it usually take 10 yrs+ from diagnosis to find an effective treatment.

Paddington23 · 25/11/2018 15:23

Well 10 years ago I started my periods 6 years ago I realised the pain wasn’t normal I’ve on hormone treatment with the injection and just had surgery last jan

How long ago did you first ask a GP for help, OP?

Let us know what happens in next few days. x
Going to A&E is my idea of Hell so I need a limb falling off before I could face it. I hope you find relief soon.

Work mentioned my sickness manager said she could see I was trying and struggling with my sickness but if I was sick again especially on weekend they need some evidence like 111 call trip to a and e or doctors. Dosnt see any sense in a and e trip just to get a day of work or ring 111 what do I say to them
