Soup is the meal of the devil

That's if you even believe it to be a meal, i don't but apart from that the noisy slurping off the spoons, the swallowing sounds that seem to accompany only soup somehow, the drips falling back into the bowl, the sucking the noodles if they unfortunate enough to be a part of this hell hole. To make things worse its eaten by those that are ill so you have all those irritating sounds of sniffling etc. AAARGGHH!

i like soup. Yabu.

......Sluuurrrrrrrrrpppppppppppp!

FuzzyCustard · 22/11/2018 17:01

YABU.
Soup is lovely, especially in cold weather. And apparently fills you up more than the same ingredients in a non-soup version so good for the always-hungry.

Terribletweens · 22/11/2018 17:01

I love soup but really thick soup that you can scoop up with bread or eat with no slurping, thin soup needs a straw imo Grin

FitzChivalryFarseer · 22/11/2018 17:05

Soup is awesome. Endless variety of flavours. It is not the soup’s fault that people in your life are unable to eat soup without slurping.

Racecardriver · 22/11/2018 17:06

Confused what kind of people do you spend time with?

StillRunningWithScissors · 22/11/2018 17:07

Sorry, whenever I hear the word soup, my mind immediately goes to the Mighty Boosh

QueenDoris · 22/11/2018 17:17

Soup is fab

Soup is the meal of the devil
DaveGrohlsBeard · 22/11/2018 17:21

Soup is great. I suggest you purchase some noise cancelling headphones or leave the room when soup is being consumed if it bothers you that much.

MrsTommyBanks · 22/11/2018 17:45

YABVU
I love soup. Both making it, and eating it.
I'm just about to make leek, potato and bacon soup.
I've been looking forwards to it all day.

Opheliasgoldenwine · 22/11/2018 17:45

Just finished my soup for dinner Grin

KC225 · 22/11/2018 18:15

Massive bowl of hearty soup for me too. I am on the blood sugar diet and a good soup is a lot for your calories

Runnynosehunny · 22/11/2018 18:17

Mushrooms are the devils bogeys.

PanchoBarnes · 23/11/2018 06:55

I love soup! All kinds of soups.
Word of warning, OP in case you ever do any overseas travel don't ever go into a ramen shop in Japan! Smile

Rainbunny · 23/11/2018 07:01

I love soup! On a cold day a spicy bowl of pho is the best! (I suppose technically pho could be considered a soup based dish?)

Eliza9917 · 23/11/2018 07:03

YABVVVVU.

Monty27 · 23/11/2018 07:06

Soup is the food of the gods! Perhaps you need to hang out with better mannered people Hmm

WhipItGood · 23/11/2018 07:08

I like soup for lunch, not sure it’s enough to call it dinner. No Loud slurping though! Baxter’s soups are my favourite although homemade is lovely too if I can be bothered.

I really don’t like ramen though. I tried it at Wagamama. It reminded me of an old bowl of washing up water - big lumps of indistinguishable odds and sods floating around in a strange liquid. And slurping noises from all sides.

ImogenTubbs · 23/11/2018 07:10

YABU. Soup is one of the best things about winter. Along with knee-high socks.

WingMirrorSpider · 23/11/2018 07:14

Soup is amazing. However, for some reason the word ‘soup’ sounds mimsy and thin to me, so doesn’t really do it justice. There should be another word for soup. But not broth. That’s even worse.

I am weird

MrsStrowman · 23/11/2018 07:27

Your problem is not soup, it's the people you're sharing a dining table with!

Oysterbabe · 23/11/2018 07:35

I love soup.
Cream of tomato soup with lovely fresh white bread is the ultimate comfort food.

ILiveInSalemsLot · 23/11/2018 07:41

I actually fancy soup for breakfast now

clearsommespace · 23/11/2018 07:43

wingmirrorspider pottage?

Soup fan here.

clearsommespace · 23/11/2018 07:45

When DD moves out (soup hater) I'm going to have it every day throughout winter.

onthenaughtystepagain · 23/11/2018 07:46

Pea and ham, bliss. Change tour acquaintances if they can't cope with soup or in vest in some straws for more runny varieties.
