To steal work furniture because I’m vain?

Have discovered the Holy Grail of slimming, flattering mirrors, at work! In the ladies’ loos on a different floor to the one I work on. Gave me a lovely confidence boost today before a tricky meeting!

A friend’s parents had one like it by their front door, and we’d all preen in front of it before going out, it’s been 20 years of waiting for another!

It’s fixed to the wall. WIBU to take in an electric screwdriver, take it down, hide it behind a cupboard, work late one nigh and sneak out with it and onto the tube?

Not if I get there first. Where do you work? (full address and postcode)

oakthorn · 21/11/2018 20:52

One just like that in a local restaurant. OH wonders why I am so long in the toilet. It's because it makes me feel great🤣

I think YWNBU at all to steal this magic mirror and take over the world with your new self confidence! I need one of those. Can you be a sensible ruler of the world though, please? (And stick to the rules I agree with)

JaiNotJay · 21/11/2018 20:54

Not at all unreasonable! Be completely brazen as you carry out your mirror heist and you'll probably get away with it.
Stick some tin foil up in place of the stolen mirror and I bet no one would even notice it was gone. Wink

MsJudgemental · 21/11/2018 20:54

We have walls of mirrors in the dance studio at our gym. Some make you look fat and some slim, so people choose their positions accordingly!

Hwory · 21/11/2018 20:56

I saw a lady flogging ‘the skinny mirror’ on shark tank once. You can probably just buy one lol

Loopytiles · 21/11/2018 21:04

That is a weird, psych you out gym you attend, MsJudgmental!

No one at work would notice or stop me. There are always randomers taking stuff in and out. I could replace it with a bog standard mirror at the same time as did the lifting job.

I would feel a bit guilty about depriving my hard working colleagues of its glory. The kind thing to do would be to spread the word. But the loo queues are already bad enough!

Or nick one from Next.

I am 6ft tall and 8 stone in there.

fernandoanddenise · 21/11/2018 21:23

Ikea. Large mirror, white frame, often hanging in the loos there. Makes me tall and three stone lighter.

AnastasiaVonBeaverhausen · 21/11/2018 21:26

The unicorn poo of mirrors. Take it.

BrightYellowDaffodil · 21/11/2018 21:30

I think you’re quite unreasonable not to have taken it already.

Bleurgh0 · 21/11/2018 21:33

Train loo mirrors always make me hair look good. Now I've read this I'm thinking of stealing one the next time I go on a train!

ChanandlerBongsNeighbour · 21/11/2018 21:33

My university mirror was like that! Aaah happy days, my flat mates would queue outside my room before a night out waiting to use my magic mirror! It was mine but I left it in the house when I graduated, never found as good a one since!

elephantoverthehill · 21/11/2018 21:44

Go ahead, nick it and replace it. A word of caution, measure the height of the mirror from the floor before you unscrew, if you hang it either higher or lower, the magic will disappear.

Ariela · 21/11/2018 21:46

It could just be an optical effect, if the mirror tilts backwards slightly it'll make you look slimmer

Justchillalready · 21/11/2018 21:48

It's all fun and games until you catch your reflection in the Tesco window, wondering who the overweight, old lady is walking straight at you!
Take it and avoid all other reflective surfaces at all costs. Smile

Loyaultemelie · 21/11/2018 22:50

I need to know where you work! My mirror is not my friend Sad
