Ds wants to go party of boy he doesn't like

My 5yo tells me about a boy in his class he does not like, wrecks his stuff etc.
The boy has a birthday party coming up and my ds wants to go.

Would he really want to go if he really didn't like the boy?

I've been worrying this boy is bullying my ds but if so would he relly want to go to his birthday party?

I can imagine he thinks the party will be fun and everyone else will be going so he doesn't want to miss out. Doesn't necessarily mean he is not being bullied.

They're five....take him to the party. Surely you can stay at the party if you need reassurance that all's well...I'm sure it will be fine.

They are only 5. I personally wouldn’t call a 5 year old a bully as they are very young and only learning. Talk to the teacher about any concerns so they can help the boy if he is behaving in an unkind way to your child.

And let him go to the party if he wants. Can you hang around at the party to make sure he is ok there?

At this age, children who don’t like each other very much one week might be playing with each other the following week.

He’s five. The party, in his eyes, will be fun and his friends will be there. To a five year old, that’s the important thing.

Yes I will take him and stuck round. I think I will have a word with the teacher. I'm a little concerned she has not mentiond anything to me as ds tells me he tells the teacher when the boy starts on him.
