To think this was bang out of order.

In a fast food restaurant which only has about 6 tables. You can normally get a seat as it is very much a scoff and go type of place. Me and my friend join the line when there are a couple of free tables so feel confident that we will get a table as often people get takeaways.
Two young women enter one eating food from a different establishment and takes one of the free tables. Her friend joins the queue and purchases food for herself and joins friend at the table.
Aibu to think this is out of order. I can deal with reserving tables (just) when you intend to purchase food but not in this case.

Calm down dear

AnastasiaVonBeaverhausen · 20/11/2018 16:09

As her friend was buying at eating there and they were sat together, I don't see an issue. Would it have been better if she's sat there not eating while her friend is? Surely it makes no odds?

werideatdawn · 20/11/2018 16:09

I mean... mildly annoying but meh.

PurpleDaisies · 20/11/2018 16:10

The one in the queue did buy food.

Elphie54 · 20/11/2018 16:11

But the friend did order food and sat at the table.... not sure what you are upset about. Because you think you should have gotten a table since you were there first? By your discription, there was no guarantee you were getting a table anyway.

NotACleverName · 20/11/2018 16:11

I hope you called the police on them.

Returnofthesmileybar · 20/11/2018 16:12

Did you get a seat?

Itsyersel · 20/11/2018 16:13

Yes, you are BANG Out of order, get a grip and a life!

NotUmbongoUnchained · 20/11/2018 16:14

Log it with 101

IHopeThisIsAGoodIdea · 20/11/2018 16:14

Did you log it with 111??? 🤔🤔🤔

werideatdawn · 20/11/2018 16:14

Bang out of order is the new fumin'

Itsyersel · 20/11/2018 16:15

Where you expecting her friend to stand outside and eat her food while looking through the window at her friends eating.....

IHopeThisIsAGoodIdea · 20/11/2018 16:15

*101

Lizzie48 · 20/11/2018 16:18

I've never read a more ridiculous AIBU in all my time on here. 3 words - GET A LIFE. Hmm

Ryderryder · 20/11/2018 16:18

I think it is wrong to bring food from elsewhere into a restaurant and use their facilities and not even buying a drink. Incidentally the table was for four so they could have shared but put their bags on other seats. So one customer effectively took up four seats.
Accept trivial but annoying.

If it was me that was managing the restaurant the one eating food from another establishment would have been told to do one. Unless it's a food court kind of setup.

Breakyourselfagainstmystones · 20/11/2018 16:19

I would be mildly irritated if I had to wait for a seat, but it's quite sensible of them really, I wouldn't say it was bang out of order. Next time make sure you or your friend reserve a seat too.

lostelephant · 20/11/2018 16:20

Eh? Have you been living under a rock OP? This is common behaviour in most fast food places, my partner and I do it all the time. It isn't just to "reserve the space", it's because sometimes it seems quite pointless two people queueing when one person is more than capable of ordering.

PurpleDaisies · 20/11/2018 16:20

Incidentally the table was for four so they could have shared but put their bags on other seats

And they refused to move their bags when asked?

Itsyersel · 20/11/2018 16:27

Of course she didn't ask.....much better running onto internet to bitch about it Grin

Ryderryder · 20/11/2018 16:27

I do have a life thank you. I just foolishly thought it was an interesting discussion angle on the do you reserve table debate as the food from another establishment put a different slant on it. My mistake.

Ryderryder · 20/11/2018 16:28

We were lucky to get a table. Others behind didn't.

I can’t believe this even registered to you. Everyone does this if one person doesn’t fancy what the other does. If we’re out and my husband wants a burger from Burger King, I’ll uusally get myself a subway and eat meet him in Burger King with it or vice versa.

Jaxhog · 20/11/2018 16:32

Surprised the establishment allowed someone to eat food from somewhere else tbh. Most don't.

Annoying, but you got a table, so what's the problem? Let the people who didn't, worry about it.
